Feel free to move this into the rumours thread if it's necessary, but I've noticed that Van Ginkel is allegedly stalling on joining Chelsea because he is concerned about how much first team experience he gets. If true, it is good to know that there are some star players who genuinely do value playing football over cold, hard, cash (I know there are plenty, but the signs are not always as obvious).

Isn't it therefore primetime for Hughton to go pull off another of his trademark transfer coups and convince this hot prospect to join us and then move on in a year or so?!?

I think he not only values playing all the time but unfortunately European football if he was to move. He's obviously happy at vitesse and if he was to move then he needs to make it worth while and at this stage of his career a move to Chelsea would be a bad one. If he was to leave it would be either to Ajax or maybe a champions league German side I think.

Wouldn't surprise me if Van Ginkel went to Borussia Dortmund to fill the void left by Mario Gotze.

You can see why he wouldn't be too keen on Chelsea, any player, however young, being linked to teams of our standard is never going to be a regular first team player for Chelsea. Players like Marko Marin have had their careers stall at Chelsea too, and you could argue whether Lukaku would have been better going somewhere else first.

Equally, Vitesse are 'only' offering Europa league football, so a year with the Swans could be a decent move for him.

I would be happy for Chelsea to buy him and loan him to us for next season...we can guarantee him playing time :emoticon-0116-evilg

Butland also turned chelsea down to play first team football, he's going to be annoyed of Stoke don't sell Begovich, clearly he was offer the role that the want ruddy for, I doubt its very appealing for a career perspective although probably well paid.

I think we are getting above ourselves if we start thinking about the possibility of signing this lad. He might not get a lot of starts at Chelsea next season or at any of the top 4 but he would start fairly regularly anywhere else from Spurs downwards.

No coincidence that a lot of their academy players dont make it - I know thathappens elsewhere, but is high at chelsea because of overseas players bought
This guy is overseas but he is young and wants to play, sometimes u think they just buy players maybe for the squad

The top teams have been accused of buying up the best youngsters to stop other teams getting them!

That would be a great move for him, I read earlier that they're looking to buy Pierre Emerick Aubameyang if they manage to sign him and hold onto Leandowski they will no doubt be challenging again for the Champions League.
