And Bartley joins Birmingham on loan. What on earth did he do to blot his copybook so badly?

Back to Poz. Welcome; looking forward to seeing some real POZITIVE performances from you.

Hey Norway / Dai / DPJ .... we'd all like the skinny on Bartley. Who did he piss off and over what. In that 0-5 pasting at Anfield he wasn't the only person dogging it on the field.

Oh yes ... welcome AP .... losing track of all the new guys, and where they play, going to need a program for first game.

His birthdate is Sep 91, does he make the cut for the 25 man roster or not.

    Food For Thought:

Pozuelo is currently listed as an attacking midfielder, however when Barcelona were interested a couple of years ago he was playing as a striker for Betis B.

Who knows what ML has in mind, but is he another false 9?

Maybe ML sees him as a like for like replacement for Michu, if and when required.

Exactly Swim. We're getting a lot of midfield types in. If we keep Lamah then we've got a lot of flexibility in "midfield" .... will Moore really step up or are we going to have buzz with a false 9's and have players rotate in and out of that role during a game.

    Great signing IMO.

Yankee-There were rumours a while back that his old man(Bartley's) had a go at the Swans management/board for not picking him in the cup final, saying that his boy should be playing etc,etc ive no idea if that is true or just stuff that somebody made up but couple that with it not being a Laudrup signing and you can sort of see why he is out of favour if true. Some have said his attitude isn't great either but I have no idea if that's true.

Bartley should have been getting in ahead of monk last season, the fact he didn't points to a couple of things.

    1. He might not be giving everything and working hard enough to get in ahead of monk at training.
    2. Laudrup doesn't fancy him and as he is not his signing feels no need to justify playing him if he doesn't give it all in training.
    3. Been a bit sulky since not making the cup final squad so the club have just decided to bomb him out to Brum .
    4. Perhaps has too many rough edges on his game and was always going to be a long term signing with potential.

He was incredibly **** in that Liverpool drubbing if I remember correctly. Would have been a brave man to pick him in the cup final after that.

Well, in fairness the cup final squad would have been picked before then IMO , with the remainder of the squad picking up the game against Liverpool as the others could sit out ready for wembely, It was probably why Bartley played so ****,perhaps knowing he wasn't in the squad the following week, for me its the only reason for him being so so rubbish!! he was not alone in that game though, but im guessing the reason was probably the same for a few others like Vorm, kemy, monk etc.

    Thanks NJ.

If he knew he was not in the final squad and played the 'Pool game with a **** attitude I can understand why the rest of the season he was just dead wood.
