I have a feeling that if we don't sign Austin, then we'll end up with 1or 2 loan strikers, maybe even if we do. Anyone got any thoughts on this?

We have a really good recent record of loaning excellent players and then signing them. I would love us to sign a striker or two on loan with a deal in place to buy them when we stay up. Try before you buy reduces the risk and doesn't break the bank. Question is whether it would be youngster from a big Premiership team or someone from a European team. I would imagine that most managers would want to look at their young players in pre-season so if this happens it would be in August when we got a player in on loan.

I think we'll get one of Hooper or Austin, then someone else who's available on a fee or for a low fee, then I'd go for John Guidetti on loan.

I thought Mladen Petrić on a free was a good suggestion yesterday, but I went on the Fulham board and they said his injury record was similar to Bullard's. <yikes>
