    Nobody! Crazy business.

If this goes through then Ashley and JK both need a kick in the balls.

Maybe the team could all give them one each, with studs showing?!

Amazing how he wasn't playing for Brazil last night. Is he injured?

Must be, otherwise he would have started for them.

The squad needs good utility players and we had two really good ones in Ryan Taylor & James Perch.

    Now we have neither. <doh>

    £700k?

    Truly staggering.

Perch was a Hughton signing so i'm sure he's done well to last this long.

    Ashley, Kinnear & Pardew... <laugh> ...the ****s.

    To Wigan?
I hate that club and so does Ashley (Whelan factor)
Anyway, as long as we replace him with better, that's fine by me.
    Wish him well.

The squad would miss him. Unless of course he's been sent to 'give our best wishes to' Callum Mc********n

What a load of carp. This is a real shame. He has been great for us. Able to pay a number of positions, and do a good job. Plus he's turned himself into a bit of a fans favourite. Are they deliberately trying to p*ss us off?!

It's odd that we would look to make a LOSS on a player of his age and general squad value.
I wonder if things have happened behind the scenes?

The other factor to remember with regards to Tiote, is this fraud allegation that is hanging over him. I am not a lawyer, so cannot really tell if the charges against him are serious or not. By that l mean if say he was found guilty, would they carry the threat of a custodial sentence ?
Anyway, being taken to Court and prosecuted for any reason, must surely be extremely worrying and stressful. I am sure that Tiote will be effected by the trauma of it all, and that must in some part manifest itself in his game, which has not been up to par for quite a while now.

Guys, do we not already have Bigirimana and Anita for this role, as well as the signing of Kemen plus the new contracts for CM's Richardson and Inman? I'd sooner see pretty much ALL of the above than Perch.

Stop making drama out of nothing. He's a space in the squad better reserved for promising talent. It's not like anyone here would be happy seeing this "utility" player at right back or centre back.

Not making a drama out of nothing to be fair Nedders. People are simply seeing it for what it is. An excellent utility player who rarely lets us down when called upon. Whereas I think he struggles at centre back, he does really well at either full back or holding midfield. There is a reason SAF kept versatile players around like O'Shea, Brown, Phil Neville etc. Whereas they weren't essentially Man U quality, they filled important holes without demanding the earth. Those guys are worth their weight in gold and that is why we should be hanging onto the likes of Raylor and Perch.

By all means ditch the llikes of Gosling, Shola, Willo, Obertan to make room for more useful promising talent. But we should learn from our past mistakes of ditching the likes of Steve Watson and Aaron Hughes.

This exactly. They are saying in the Journal that Anita and Bigi are the replacements for Perch, so essentially the powers that be have chosen to thin out a squad that was too weak to begin with. Terrible and senseless decision making.

For the money involved I have to agree.

If we were cashing in significantly or getting rid of a big wage bill, I would see the logic. As it is, Perch is more reliable than Bigi at the moment, and a second option for Anita is always handy. We had Anita and Bigi last year and still found plenty of use for perchinho.

Perch may have been told he was not likely to get many games and so asked for a move. If so, fine. If Perch was happy to stay, though, I don't see the logic in getting rid of him

Yes, but what about the new deals for Inman (CM), Richardson (CM) and Dummett (FB), plus the signing of Kemen (DM)? You're both talking about having a "utility player", but we're going to buy a CB, so are able to fill in each of the positions Perch plays in with a young specialist in that area. This is taking Bigirimana (DM) and Anita (CM) out of that equation as well, so are we supposed to NOT offer a contract to Inman and keep a soon-to-be-29 year old Perch?

Look, I'm not saying it's 100% right, but who's to say Perch was happy being 9th choice CM for NUFC? Maybe he wants more game time and with all these youngsters being given a shot (plus Anita needing more involvement) perhaps he was told "look, you're really unlikely to play unless we're down to the bare bones, that ok?" to which he probably said "erm, I'm 28, so no, not really".

Have we learned nothing, kids? Just because there's a headline doesn't mean we know the story.

And I hate to state the bleedin' obvious, but we are NOT Manchester United and don't have people lining up to play in our reserves.
