Right then, after the formality of whizzing through the left-mid position we now have some big eared Welsh kid in our XI and it's time to round off the team with two hitmen up top to give some potency to the solid foundation we have built thus far. I fear this may be almost as much as a rout as our left-sided duo but it could yet get interesting, anyway you know the drill by now, just nominate the two strikers who had the best performance(s) against Saints this season.

Lukaku and someone else to follow when I've had a moment to think.

EDIT: Yeah it's difficult to think past Van Persie, but I'm going to upset the apple cart and suggest Rooney. Scored two goals against us at OT and didn't miss a stupid penalty.

Can't believe I've nominated such a usually overrated player. :)

Van Persie and Lukaku for me.

There are cases to be made for Cisse & Jerome after their ridiculous goals though

Van Persie and Lukaku. Can't think of anybody who caused us as many problems as those two.

RVP definitely. There are several other contenders: Lukaku, if we're counting FA Cup Demba Ba, Papiss Cisse, Jelavic maybe.

Shane Long and Andy Carroll for the purpose of different options.

Cisse was offside so I'm not counting that.

I'm sorry but you can't nominate him for that alone. What else did he do against us? Nothing.

Why not? It was the difference between us getting 3 points and only getting 1.

Thank you for your apology though!

Van Persie was good in the game at Old Trafford and scored a hattrick at ours, so I guess he has to be one of them. I kind of want to say Rooney as well because his finishing was so good at Old Trafford, but he didn't play the other one.

Likewise with Lukaku, he tormented us at our place, but only played the last 20 minutes at The Hawthorns, in which Odemwingie was similarly impressive.

Dzeko scored against us in both games and looked pretty dangerous, so I think he's a decent shout.

Jelavic played both games and scored twice in one of them, but was quiet in the other.

I might change my mind, but for now I'm thinking Lukaku just edges it.

Long gave us a torrid time, and Van Persie for obvious reasons

Van Persie for the first, I can't really decide between Long and Lukaku for the other. Maybe Long for the away game on balance... sorry Romelu, I still think you're awesome. If Mourinho doesn't start him next season then he should be sacked btw.

If there was a 'Best personality/work ethic' award, I'd nominate you Romelu, don't worry

    Van Pussy and Lukaku

Both put a great shift in against us and Lukaku is exactly the type of player we need

Funnily enough, when I read Qwert's message I wondered whether we ought to out in a bid. He'd be great.
