This from Vital Fulham: The Sunday press are intimating that Martin Jol is trying to wrestle the PSV Eindhoven striker, Ola Toivonen, away from the grasp of Norwich City. Although it is being reported that Toivonen is on the verge of a £4.7 million move to Norwich, Jol is hoping that the offer of a higher salary may tempt the player to Craven Cottage. His task may be helped by the fact that Jol and the player share the same agent. Furthermore, and this might be pushing it a little too far, Jol is hoping to get the £4.7 million fee down to a more respectable £3 million based on the fact that the 26year-old has only twelve months left on his contract. An interesting one! I wonder which way this one will turn!
Why would PSV accept 3 is we gave offered 4.7? Obviously their requirement comes b4 that of the player? We could obviously pay him more if we paid less for him
Yet another Grant Holt rumour from Twitter Transfer Rumours ‏@FootyRumours__ 1h Middlesbrough are trying to sign Grant Holt from Norwich on a season long loan. #Boro #NCFC
The Wolfman cometh ! RickyvanWolfswinkel ‏@RvWolfswinkel9 10m Finally heading to my home Norwich here we come
For those who are getting a little bit impatient david mcnally ‏@davidmcnally62 2h @1batesy squad numbers are normally announced just prior to the start of the season.Sensible for us,as we expect to see several new signings in DM we trust
It is pretty quite, I think people have sort of given up until the window opens, theres only so much blind speculation you can take before requiring a fact or two
I must say all this speculation Causes me nout but aggravation, So many get linked And glasses get chinked Well before any verification.
I'm listening Kickitoff! Until Fulham are prepared to stump up £4.7 they're not even in the running. I think We'll know what's happening with Toivenon in the next few days. Meanwhile I feel very content with the RvW interviews on Canary Player. The man is really grounded and will make a huge difference this season. He's on his way - let's celebrate that first!
Just in from twitter from a reliable bbc cycling journo who hardly ever tweets anything football related unless there's anything in it. He's heard from a reliable source that Nathan Redmond is joining us. He has no affiliation to either club supportwise. Excellent signing imo for the quoted fee. To see cardiff have agreed a fee of 8M for Ince from Blackpool today, 2.5M seems an absolute steal.
Another bbc sport editor saying Redmond has chosen Norwich over Everton. Double unveiling with RVW tomorrow perhaps?
Very good price for Redmond, I honestly think he is a future England winger. I have a feeling he'll be like Huckerby where he makes everyone stand up when he has the ball. Really excited if we sign him, I really hope his end product develops significantly and he honestly could be a top winger.
