With so much business concluded so early by SOD and on paper at least a strong looking squad who should be more than capable of challenging for top spot will Albert wait until Jan and see how we are going? This may suit the club as if we do sell him in the Jan window clubs panic buy much more than in the Aug window and we may get a good price.
Hes a league one winger who by his standard didnt play great last season and under SOD failed to find games until we had injuries which is why u wont find many clubs making bids over £1m for him as his value is no where near what it used to be so city have choices to sell him for what they can get now and re invest or wait 6-12 months and hope if he finds form his value will go up. The problem for us is there are better wingers out there in the championship which these prem clubs want so we will have to wait if those players go before they might consider Albert as a replacement
Albert may be a better selling option in the January transfer window than right now because he will have more time to show his worth to potential suitors. If I were to sign him I would ask for a full commitment and not to disappear at the slightest opportunity to some international tournament, if you get my drift. Sorry but that tournament is a sore point with me because it is currently held every year but I think that has changed hasn't it? Frankly I think his worth is way over estimated but if he proves he's worth a bigger club coming in for him then all power to him.
Going to be every 2 years I believe though why it can't be every 4 years like all the other competitions I have no idea
Albert has everything but end product. If some smart manager takes him and works on that successfully, he will play at the top level and be worth LOTS.. As for bids, way too early, he will go for £1.5m+ if he goes...
Depends on who is prepared to offer him a contract if the only offers are from Championship clubs he might decide to stay and see what happens.
Were there really any standouts last season that are a must to stay? Let's move on and do the rebuild with few from last year because sometime in the future the so called top players will go anyway - do it now and forget the past. The future is all that counts in the long term.
After the players that have already arrived it's people leaving I would like to see but the trouble is the ones most of us want to leave are the ones least likely to have any offers made for them.
Maybe SO'D will be able to offload the "Dross" on long term loans this season. Perhaps Fontaine to Yeovil with us paying the greater share of his wages? Although I really do believe that SO'D is a Kilkenny fan and thus we'll see more of the Aussie Whinger than most of us would like.
I think that he is a Kilkenny fan in the sense that he is the type of player he likes to have in his team but if we sign JET I rather think Mr K will discover he is nowt more than a bench warmer whilst JET is fit.
