Sure about? I think Simpson can do the job for a couple of seasons more, obviously when we want to get to the ''next level'' then we'll have to improve but for now IMO Simpson is solid but unspectacular but can comfortably play in the PL(as shown this season), he may not be every one's cup of tea but he's got decent potential and with improvement on his defensive side he can become the ''complete'' full-back so to speak.

If we are getting 35mil say, I would definitely leave 10 for January where we can see the deficiencies in our squad and build, rather than blow it all now then discover we need to spend more.

I tend to agree. I think if he becomes more consistent with his attacking game (I thought he was more effective making runs earlier in the season), and is more aggressive closing down players before they dribble into the box, he could be a solid RB

He looked really good when he 1st came back from injury (or was that just cos Perch was so bad) but as the season went on he seemed to get more negative, maybe it was Pardew coming in and he told him to sit more, but I hate the fact he constantly backs off, even against poor players

Any news on who our next target is if Gameiro and Gervinho doesn't come off? Would still be happy with Zog plus Striker plus Enrique replacement.

 

I'll be very happy with Simpson if he can sort out his backing off issue, give him this season at least to break the habit, if he fails to do so look at other options.

 

Probably N'zogbia for Gervinho, not sure on Gameiro, Sturridge?
