Henrikh Mkhitaryan put up for sale. Source:http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...ews/liverpool-fc-transfer-rumour-mill-4729600
I'd be happy if we got Sakho, especially of we got Henri Ryan too. Wannabe would be good at the right price too.
Fee agreed with Shaktar and 3rd Parties. News should start trickling out shortly. Terms to agree and the biggest legal due diligence of a signing the club has ever done since the signing of Mascherano permanently from West Ham due to all the 3rd party crap and the FA/PL rules on 3rd party ownership. Still don't get too carried away as the old adage of "till he's holding a Liverpool scarf above his head" has never been so apt due to the complexities and awkwardness of trying to do business with Shaktar Donetsk!!! Their ****s. 100 times worse than dealing with Levy!
I understand Spurs is trying to beat Liverpool to it. Source:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ttenham-want-Henrikh-Mkhitaryan-Shakhtar.html
Do we need him? Will he adapt? Yes he's class but I've got a dodgy feeling about this lad. I think he'll struggle, i hope i'm having an Alan Hansen moment.
I don't why but I'm getting dodgy feelings about this situation aswell. Just a feeling that something is not quite right.
Spuds scouting policy obviously consists of watching football on TV (Paulinho) or reading the rumour section in the papers.
Liverpool Agree £25.6m Deal to Sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan: Shakhtar Donestk Player to Be Unveiled In Coming Days by The Newshound June 29th, 2013 Source:http://www.caughtoffside.com/2013/0...donestk-player-to-be-unveiled-in-coming-days/
For those who didn't know, this is a link to a snippet of radio coverage, where John Bradley (LFCTV commentator) tells us what to expect from Mkhitaryan on Radio city.
Also, the pure fact that Dortmund were prepared to spend a lot of money on this lad screams a lot of things to me. They hardly ever splash the cash for any player, their squad is assembled from penny's, the only real big money signing for them was Reus at 15m. For me he'd be an astonishing signing, and I sincerely hope that all these rumours are true because it'll be quite a coup. It's noted we don't have CL football, nor do we pay megabuck wages so if he joins us it'll be purely for football reasons, and if he costs 25m euros then so be it. IF Suarez were to stay... A quartet of Suarez, Sturridge, Coutinho and Mkhitaryan is title challenging stuff.. Shame that everything behind them is looking a tad woeful at the moment. Although my spirits would be greatly lifted it we were to land Papa too. Though I think that might be getting a bit carried away.
I think that is a bit unfair. Gerrard and Lucas are capable of controlling any midfield and Gerrard's forward passing will be vital to getting the best out of that front 4. Our fullbacks do a great job, even if johnson did slow late in the season. he just needs rotating a little more. Agger and safe and Mignolet is a good keeper. We only have one concerning hole. The rest is just down to squad depth.
Having listened to that I'm more re-assured about this possible/probable signing. Bradley really knows his stuff re. not only Mkhitaryan but Ukranian/Russian football in general. This radio interview puts a bit of meat on the bone,so to speak. Beforehand it all seemed a little cloak and dagger with talk of third party ownership etc. This has to be the right decision,£22-£25m is comparable to the Torres or Suarez fees (forget Carroll for the mo) but I trust the opinion of Bradley on this, and more importantly I trust BR's judgement for the time being at least. Sounds like this is happening, exciting stuff, but as always the proof of the pudding will be in the quality Mkhitaryan brings to the club in the coming seasons.
I really meant compared to the four players that I mentioned. Lucas and Gerrard are great, but the latter is only getting older and the former hasn't got back to his best. Then you look at the depth covering them, Allen (who I still think is a good player) is not really good enough cover. Not entirely convinced about Johnson, he's way to inconsistent for my liking, but hopefully Kelly can stay fit and compete with him. And there is still a big lack of quality at CB other than Agger, hopefully that'll be addressed.
Yes,I'm hoping Kelly will be shifted to his 'proper' position and Wisdom will challenge GJ for the right back role.
