Not as good as some youth club band from Sheffield apparently.

Whatever were Diana Ross, Bowie, Duran Duran etc thinking of asking Nile Rodgers to produce their music and rectify their ailing careers?

Sorry for not having the same musical taste as you... surprised you mentioned Duran Duran though. A fan?

Nile Rodgers is a brilliant songwriter and producer, no denying that one.

This is it with music, everyone is different. I'm really liking this arctic monkeys set but can't help Mumford and sons don't deserve the spot.

Mumford and Sons are ****. End of story.

They should've got someone like The Killers or something similar to headline instead.

It's an era thing as well isn't it.

Nile is currently playing Let's Dance, which is better than any of the Arctic songs it has to be said.

    IMO!

Not much of a fan of the people he has produced/arranged for. But the fact that such big names rely on him to sort their **** is the ultimate testament to his abilities.

You say that, but I like a lot of 60s music. 90s is the preference though personally.

More than an era thing, it's a talent thing.

Arctic Monkeys: big in how many countries did you say?

I read somewhere (probably NME) that the Killers hate playing their most popular songs like Brightside etc, after nearly 10 years of playing them constantly on tour.

To be fair, the only artist(s) I like that he has produced for are Bowie (Anything before Heroes, anyway. Not a fan of much after that).
I hate to admit this one, but the other act I also like that he has produced for - Daft Punk. I like them, don't know why...I shouldn't like them based on the rest of my music collection...

Nile Rodgers wouldn't have been playing Glastonbury if he hadn't done "Get Lucky" with Pharrell and Daft Punk.

It's an age thing as you said.

Kids today know Chic etc but don't know whose behind them.

I think the era thing still stands, but I accept the talent argument.

Nile and his band are clearly far more talented musicians than the Arctic Monkeys, and catchier songs.

    It is true.
