the only thing this will help is congestion on the way home from work, i.e. there will be two lets sets of traffic lights to wait for...

    that's it!

Selfish attitude Bruich, take a slap, is your commute home more important than completing the west-east axis and getting transport in and out of the docks quicker and allowing the Marina area to reconnect with the rest of the city centre?

I'm not for one minute suggesting that the development shouldn't go ahead, but wouldn't it ease congestion if they altered the ferry times slightly? Having used them on many occasions you disembark right on rush hour. It can take up to an hour to get out of the city. If the ferry docked at, say, 9.30am this would help ease congestion.

    Just a thought

And there are factories and offices there, as well as more boats at the Marina, as well as more officeing, housing and a hotel.

You really didn't think that through, did you Bruich?

That's been suggested a number of times over the years, with no joy and variou reasons why it can't happen.

    What Hull needs is.............

    A southern bypass.

(Get your head around that one - if you can).

they are not in that area though are they? andrew jacksons are nearby as well.. but surely not in the area that would benefit? Wouldn't that be the kingston retail park?

The marina area was being talked about - which is where those companies are located. If you're talking offices towards the docks, you obviously haven't seen the large new business park with Middlegate Europe & Nippon Gohsei as tenants. The Hedon Rd corridor is also in an Enterprise Zone, which has many other sites earmarked for business/office/manufacturing developments.

Isn't the point that it will also encourage business to locate there if the road infrastructure is improved and help create more jobs in the area
