Morning all!! Roscoe stated last season, when there was speculation about him potentially leaving, that "you'd be mad to leave here, I want to stay and be part of a massive club like Leeds". His attitude is spot on and he values the shirt, good on him!! McDermott must stay, I trust him to build something and get the club organised and pointing in the right direction. He is going to become a legend at this club - if he is given the right support by the board. The fans already respect him, and he understands the history and passion and wants to make his own mark. Remember, this club is huge compared to his last job. As it stands Byram still looks like the sacrificial lamb to raise much needed money, but this injury may well delay things moving on. Thankfully at end of this season we can wave goodbye to Brown, Norris, Green, Varney, Kenny and the rest of the wage gobblers, so McD will be able to really have a go at finishing his jigsaw. Can't see Millwall finishing above Yeovil though, Lomas gone by Christmas with Neil Harris taking over and gently guiding them back to reality and feature games against Colchester.
Morning guys. Some interesting points raised this morning but gloom still seems to be the main theme as far as team building goes I think I am in the smaller optimistic group that hopes that the July 1st transfer window opening will see some movement to our advantage. The fact that Byram has pulled out of the Slovenia tour makes me think he is being set up for the transfer that will spark some activity from BM to bring in his "targets" With the start of the season some 6 weeks away BM will need to have a settled squad if we are to get off to a winning start. So my panic will set in around mid July if we are still talking about "possible" signings and lack of investment in the team. Are we doomed to ground hog days year after year at this time of the year.
While I appreciate the feelings of those who would like BMcD to walk in response to broken promises, if indeed any have been broken, I would prefer him to stay. If we have to accept this coming season as not so much mark time but the first beginnings of rebuilding the club then so be it. Next year IIRC our revenue streams will be back to normal when all Bates excesses have been paid for and the phoenix operation can gain some speed. I fully agree with our new manager it is the club that needs rebuilding not just the first team, small steps have already been taken in the development and changes at TA and I am sure more will follow. If unexpectedly GHFC suddenly gain some real investment and we can move on quicker then great but if not then the club, manager and teams need our support. I first watched this club when John Charles, Albert Nightingale and Eric Kerfoot were playing, I remember the blankets going round for our pennies after the old West Stand burned down, I remember the plummeting fall when we had to sell Charles to Juventus to help pay for a new stand. I remember how close we were to the old 3rd division when Revie took over and the rebirth from then on of a great club. Surely gents, if at my age I can show some patience, some of you can too. I would love all of you to experience the lovely feeling of watching the great club develop. As befits my ex-serviceman status I leave you with PER ARDUA AD ASTRA
Good morning felow posters He BM must have great faith in new boy Matt Smith to let Morison go out on a years loan to the big club in SE London called Millwallyou really couldn,t make this up so we swapped Becchio for what precisely
Morning all Only a couple of days ago Nooruddin said they were to back BMcD, and now they say there will be no more money put into the club to sign player. And you can forget all about promotion next season as the owners is not looking for it. They just want us to do well. I guess that will put us somewhere between 7âth and 21âth. Last season I said we will end up in 12âth place, we ended up in 13âth place. This season I think we will do more or less the same and end up in 14âth place. I really feel sorry for BMcD, he has well and truly been ****ed up his ass by the owners
No we didn't swap Becchio, we gave him away and gave his replacement a 3.5 year contract on big money, only to send him out on loan to a small village club. fooking joke we are. By the time his contract ends we will have paid the donkey nearly £4m in wages, plus the £1m we spent for him. Seems GFH are learning the hard way with the fans cash and good will
Hang on a second, how did we spend £1m on Morison? I think it was a poor signing, and McD obviously isn't a fan of his, but we would struggle to sell him, so loaning him out will free up a years worth of wages to spend elsewhere. Millwall will be paying at least a decent percentage of them if this goes through.
I'm with size 5 McDermott quits we are in the right **** Morning all. Roscos professionalism has never been questioned in my eyes. Lets hope it gives him an advantage over the others at the beginning of the season. I remember Johnson doing a similar thing in a boot camp down London. Day off today, so on my first beer already weeeeeey

LiD, if potential new employers won't pay £8m in the current market for a 19/20 year old who might conceivably captain England in 10 years time and who will certainly have a re-sale value for the next few year, they can phuk off. Of course he is worth £8m in the current market. Yes, we may have to sell. But let's at least get a proper sum for him.
I've been impressed as anyone by Byram this season. He's had one great season though, let's not forget that. And yeah, the current market can be ridiculous, but let's not get too far ahead of ourselves here. To say he might captain England in 10 years time is a hell of a stretch. Yes, he might, but so might a lot of other people. (Including Gerrard the way Hodgson organises his current team!!! )
Afternoon all, Am I the only one that isn't happy about Rosco being singled out? Strikes me that there's a danger that this statement is putting him in the shop window, intentionally or otherwise. Who was it our esteemed assistant manager did it to last season?
