Name me one player who hasnt had an injury keep him our half a season, get a grip and get your facts right before you call someone "injury prone". Really good signing if it comes off, total upgrade on what we have now and he played the last 10 games of last season or so at a very good standard, kept Demele out the team!
does anyone actually have any facts on his playing v injury record? before I jump on the bandwagon and call him a very talented crock.
Played 21 games last season, 4 domestic cup appearances and 3 european ones…Considering the midfield Tottenham have I would not say that is bad at all
12/13 06.02.2013 08.03.2013 Knee injury 11/12 15.02.2012 30.06.2012 Knee-OP 11/12 23.09.2011 14.02.2012 Knee-OP 10/11 10.11.2010 01.02.2011 Malleolar injury 08/09 16.05.2009 30.07.2009 Knee Problems 08/09 16.08.2008 23.08.2008 Bone buckling All serious injuries, so before you tell people to "get a grip" do your research my friend!
so he's missed: 3 months in the 10/11 season from Nov to Feb All of the 11/12 season 1 month of the 12/13 season in Feb ...excluding summer rehab. so 1.5 of a total 5 seasons crocked? anyone know what the average is for a premier league footballer's time spent on the treatment table..
Also if Spurs want cash why dont we try a joint bid for Rose as well, 7-8 million would be worth it for those 2.
What is with Sunderland fans thinking we are going to sell Rose? He went to you for experience not because we didn't want him. Ekotto is our only left back and he was dodgy at best last year. I'd be very surprised if he didnt start as many games as Benny next year; so why would he join Sunderland instead of staying with us? On Huddlestone - Great passer and would be a great signing for you guys if you are aiming for mid table but he's a very .... ordinary player. He's "good" at everything, tackling, passing, shooting but not exceptional at any of them. To the people comparing him to Cattermole - He's a much, much better player than Cattermole.
For the record, I think he has fantastic ability and should suit what we need in terms of his passing and shooting ability but his injury record is a genuine concern. maybe he's over the worst of it? who knows eh.
Wasnt comparing to Catts, was saying he would be the replacement…and a far better one at that And btw you have Zeki Fryers…signed him last year…hes a LB, as if Kyle Naughton when utilised… Rose wants first team football and wants to be closer to his family in Doncaster…
Zeki Fryers was appauling for our reserves / U18s last year believe me he's nowhere near. And Naughton is our backup right back and, again, was awful last year. I think Rose will be patient, rotate with Ekotto this year and then be in the first team the year after. If you think you'll sign him fair play - But if I was a sunderland fan I wouldn't get my hopes up!
Fully admit the fact its all to hoping, but dont think he will settle for the odd game Plus now he is more or less a hero up here, might fancy the cult hero status Apparently a few of your fans think he was just an average player in a **** team and dont rate him that highly?
I don't think he's a world beater but I think he's better than Ekotto - Alot of the spurs fans that call him average are just going on what he did for us before going to Sunderland at a guess. As he was a ~good~ player in an average team (think calling Sunderland a **** team is a bit harsh). We have more important places to spend money at the minute so id probably play a back 4 of Walker Kaboul Vertonghen Rose and AVB does seem keen to keep him. Anyway back to THUDD - He will be a great signing, I think we'd be willing to sell now as Sigurdson, Holtby, Dembele, Sandro, Livermore and Paulinho will all be ahead of him. I'd be interested to see Hudd play further forward for your team and let Cattermole faff around defensively. Hudd's biggest problem for us was his passing was top notch (we're talking as good as your Pirlo's, Xavi's, Iniesta's) but he was slow, cant tackle and for a big lad was often quite lightweight. Hence why he never cemented his place as our defensive midfielder.
The parable of the boy who didn't listen to Fergie. Rose played very well for Sunderland last season because they believed in him, if I was Danny Rose I'd be looking for assurances that I was first choice for Spurs and if not then I'd be asking for a transfer. If I'd had a taste of a full season, the last thing I'd want is a place on some bench being picked behind a bloke who is probably the weakest link in the entire side. That would just make me think I'm wasting away my career. Huddlestone would be a decent signing for Sunderland, he's likely to do well given a starting role. Solid and experienced player, probably exactly what Sunderland will need if they sign all of these unproven Italians.
Have a fencepost right up the proverbial on this one. Not a bad player but bit dissapointed its another centre midfielder. Are we expecting all our signings to be officially announced on Monday holding up shirts etc?
