Yes settle for him surreyranger, thats a good start & now need to get rid of the right back who simpson will replace.
Good signing, right age and length of contract. I just wish the wages had to be published like in the NHL, trades are also public too, no "undisclosed" which means you can instantly see if a signing is good or bad. it also helps keep down overpayments. hopefully boswanka will be off soon now.
Good luck to him. He worked hard for us. For some reason we just didn't seem to try to keep him. Not sure why ...
Yeah I know but theres no wages listed and every single non free transfer is "undisclosed" so we can never judge if a signing is good or bad. Simpson at 15k is great, 40k and hes a bad signing.
Simpson with Harriman as deputy Right Back sounds good to me. Get rid of JB and it will be onwards and upwards.
EXCLUSIVE: SIMPSON SIGNS Defender agrees three year deal at Loftus Road VERSATILE defender Danny Simpson is set to join QPR on a three-year deal. The 26 year-olds deal will commence on July 1st following the conclusion of his existing contract with Newcastle United. Simpson – who started his career at Manchester United – becomes Harry Redknapp’s first signing of the summer and the Eccles-born defender is excited about the next chapter of his career at Loftus Road. “I want to play week in week out. That was the main thing for me. Harry wants me playing and he wants me involved,” he told www.qpr.co.uk. “He’s a top manager, and as soon as I spoke to him I knew this was the right move for me. “I’ve always admired him. He is a great man in the game and I have a lot of respect for him. “In training and games I will give 110 per-cent. I know Harry has spoken to other coaches about me and I am sure one thing they would have said is that I am a good pro and that’s what he wants in his squad.” He added: “From what I have heard from Harry and the staff I have spoken to, along with some of the players here who I know well, they are very determined to put things behind them and start afresh and get back into the Premier League where the club belongs. “I want to play my part in that and do everything I can for the club and the fans. I really think we can go straight back up.” A delighted Redknapp told www.qpr.co.uk: “He’s the type we want at the club. “He’s a good professional, a good character and a good player who knows his job in the side. “He’ll be a really fine acquisition for us. It’s a fantastic piece of business for the club on a free transfer.” Redknapp added: “Danny’s an experienced player and made a real name for himself at Newcastle. He played regularly in the side that just missed out on a place in the top four in 2011/12. “I spoke to a few of the coaching staff at Newcastle – friends of mine from over the years who I know and trust – and they spoke very highly of him.” Simpson, who made 137 appearances for the Geordies, is due to meet up with his new R’s team-mates for the first time when the squad return for pre-season training on Monday.
Not old enough for us to sign. But may have an attitude problem, so glad he ticks that box. Joking aside, in terms of ability, he will certainly be the best full-back in the Championship. Sadly, ability doesn't excite me like it did last summer - only attitude does!
Better acquisition than Wayne Bridge ...imho Just need Bootswinga to leave and that might make a pretty stable and interesting back line Onouha, Samba, (Hill), Simpson Traore
I am reserving judgement on Simpson until he plays some games for us. I think we all should on all our signings given the past two seasons. I saw a picture of him on his holiday and he looked well out of shape. Think he'll find pre-season to be a tough one.
Can't have looked any worse than chain smoking, pot bellied Ribery did on his yacht the other day, and he seems able to be fit enough to win the champions league!! I'm sure Simpson will be fine by August........
