Does anyone know which type(s) of grass seed they will be using on our new pitch?

I only ask because of yesterday's debacle at Wimbledon where several players seemed to fall over alot and injure themselves, then blamed the quality of the grass.

(Quite frankly I would smoke any before an important match, but that's just me.)

Synthetic fibres being injected into Loftus Road playing surface ...

WORK began over the weekend to stitch the first fibres of what is hoped to be a successful season at QPR.

The team from DESSO Sports Systems moved into Loftus Road to begin the 13-day process of stitching in the synthetic fibres of the R’s new playing surface.

Three computer-driven DESSO machines will inject 20 million artificial turf fibres 20cm deep into the pitch.

One artificial turf fibre is inserted every 2 by 2 cm, with a maximum fibre height just 2 cm above the ground.

That will result in approximately 5 per cent of Loftus Road pitch being artificial turf fibres.

The whole process will take just under a fortnight to complete and will see the Rangers ground staff seed the playing surface as DESSO progresses.

This will allow natural grass roots to intertwine with the synthetic fibres and grow deeper, anchoring the natural grass to create a level, firm, and stable playing surface.

The latest process follows the previous four weeks development that has seen that whole playing surface excavated, before new under soil heating and sprinkler systems were installed.

Yeah I took a look. Can't help worrying that we'll manage to **** it up somehow though!! It will probably flood at the first sign of rain.
