Well that story was published just before 10am and their website doesn't have the story you mentioned (unless I'm not looking in the right place, I'm on the sport section). Suppose 'rejected' could mean the bit about being £500,000 out and they've simply told us to add the extra cash on and he's ours.

Talksports Lancashire reporter last night also gave much credence to the Austin rumour. He said that Austin is expected to leave this week or early next week. Burnley are now strongly linked with ex. Bolton striker Kevin Davies available on a FAT.
