The only reason that Wes would want to go back is for Billy Davies, they had a brilliant defence with him the first time around, but pretty sure all 4 of those defenders have moved on, its not like Wes would be going back to the same team.
Im still not sure what to do with Waggy He can still offer something as he proven when he got a run in the team But can he become a impact player off the bench?
I've heard rumours (albeit from the incessant bullshit machine that is Twitter) that we are talking to Wes about a new deal.
I'm with FF - I'd be incredibly, incredibly surprised if he left. Pearson brought him in, immediately made him club captain. Wes was immense for us last season, seems settled and looks as if he enjoys playing for the club. The only reason Pearson would even think about letting him go would be if Morgan asked to leave. And I'd be surprised if that happened, at least at this point in time.
He doesn't perform (physically) different from when he first signed for us to be fair. When he starts to slow down is when we start thinking like that. Currently he's a very useful squad player who has the ability to win matches on his own (albeit very rarely).
He has a year on his contract still. We give him another that's two. Can't see him getting near the first team after that.
@NatJacksonsport: I understand #nffc have put a bid in for #lcfc captain Wes Morgan but it has been rejected. More on @bbcemt at 1830
Ian Stringer ‏@StringerSport 7m Forest tryin to be smart with media? Wes Morgan back to #nffc ? Andy King 'interest'? 2 players least likely to go #PRforfans GeoffPetersTalkSPORT ‏@talkSPORTgeoff 5m The only way I see Wes Morgan leaving #LCFC is if #nffc make a ridiculous bid and the player wants to go back. Forest trying to unsettle him GeoffPetersTalkSPORT ‏@talkSPORTgeoff 1m This > RT @StringerSport Forest trying to be smart with media? Morgan back to #nffc & King interest? 2 players least likely to go #PRforfans an Stringer ‏@StringerSport 1m @talkSPORTgeoff correct. Glad it's that obvious.
I wouldn't mind so much if it was big clubs bidding for the players we haven't said they can leave, but is FFP really going to screw us over so much that derogatory bids are coming in for our bet players, £1.5 M for Wes, **** me backwards
Well if we accept Hull's 1st bid and Forest's bid we would have sold Kasper Schmeichel and Wes Morgan for 2M Thats what we paid for them Kasper's price tag is 4M as we know Wes I would want about 2.5M
Really? We'd have a very tough time replacing him. I'd only think it would be sensible to let him go if the offer was too good to turn down. £2.5m doesn't sound too good to turn down to me.
He would be hard to replace but its still possible. Wes only has 12 months on his contract plus I dont see anyone in the championship spending that type of money unless they have parachute payments to cover them. Forest wont go over 1.5M I wouldnt sell him at all but if he asked to leave then that what I would want. I would go straight in for Jack Hobbs if he is available and then go after another centre half or even let Sean St. Ledger stay and get rid of Zak ****bread
Yes, if he asked to leave, that would be different. But as he hasn't, and I don't believe he will, then I'd expect him to stay, even if someone does offer £2.5m.
Big Wes won't be going anywhere. He's our captain and rock at the back Florist just playing silly buggers. Bless em
