On the Ballymacoll website. I went into look at whether thet'd put their last 2 2yo fillies in training and noticed that there were only 19: there were 20 yesterday. Realised that it was that colt missing and clicked on Drama Class the mare, and then her 2yo produce (2011 issue). It states that he's dead. No details I'm afraid.

    Very sad.

I'd suspect an injury on the gallops or a bout of colic are the most likely causes.

Thanks Inglis. Good read. Not surprising we'll see the best of them later, but as he didn't run until mid-July it's likely his offspring will be like that or later.

What price would anyone have given you that by mid-July Dandy Man would be the leading freshman sire both for wins and prize money. Not only that, he's favourite with the bookies to remain head of both. In terms of wins Captain Gerrard is second (7 wins against 11), in terms of money Intense Focus is second (87k vs 147k).
Lots to play for yet. Sea the Stars is at 7-2 to have his offspring win the most money. Will he do that?

At last, but not too surprising as these are going to be 7f minimum horses. With the current firm ground we are not gong to see a lot of these animals until that changes. September/October may be the time for Sea the Stars.

Absolutely. From the little I've heard about those in training, they are looking too be late maturing sorts.

Interestingly, the first winner was also the cheapest yearling bought at the sales, for just 55,000.
