In future think before you speak or expect a response. You are the softest person ever if you are upset at me calling you a smart arse after you called me not very bright for missing your point.
Leave my thread for a few days and all hell breaks out. Anyway, heres my views on Gaston. As i've said before, his performances this season have been below par for a player of his ability (not so much his price tag). However, and it is a very big however, he has shown small glimpses of being one of the most talented players we have had down here, certainly in my life time. Whilst his performances this season, if given a rating, would for me be a 5 out of 10 you must also make a balanced argument to point out that it was his first season playing in a completely different country, and we all know about the difference in tempo between English and Italian football, he has faced several niggly injuries everytime he seems to be gaining a bit of momentum. And finally, and perhaps most importantly for me, has been played out of position numerous times were he has struggled to be involved in the game. My ultimate opinion on Gaston is he has all the potential to be genuinely world class, and given the opportunity, I really feel he can blossom here.
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8793499/? Gaston Ramirez's agent claims both Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid are tracking the Southampton star. The Uruguay international joined the Premier League club in a £12million deal from Bologna last summer and netted five goals in 26 top-flight appearances. Previously, there was speculation that Fiorentina and AC Milan were monitoring the playmaker's situation, but new potential suitors have emerged - who can offer UEFA Champions League football next term. Agent Pablo Betancourt told South American radio station Radio Mana Sport: "[Gaston] is currently followed by Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid. At the moment, it is very difficult for him to come back to Italy." The speculation comes as Ramirez is currently in action with Uruguay in the Confederations Cup, where they are due to take on Brazil in Wednesday's semi-final.
Nothing from the man himself, who was last quoted as saying he was "happy at southampton... they club depend on me..... I want to repay their faith"
Apologies, never saw it on there and can't find it there either. Feel free to close this thread if that's the general consensus.
Think this should stay as i imagine many people are like me and cant be bothered to trawl through god knows how many pages of the transfer thread. For what it's worth im pretty sure he will be here come September and am quietly confident of him having a great season.
Never mind the transfer thread, there's actually already a Ramirez thread, do we need another one? Anyway, as I said on that one: http://www1.skysports.com/football/...na-target-Gaston-Ramirez-happy-at-Southampton
As I said, if it's the common consensus and people really don't want this thread on here then i'm happy for the mods to get rid of it. I'm not going to loose sleep because some people have seen this information somewhere else before.
