They can't do that, rules of loaning overseas players is that a future fee has to be decided and installed into the initial loan agreement. They can't move the goalposts and can't loan without a future fee unless the loan is in the same country.

I think we could have negotiated a deal for both mate but after the seasons they both had both parent clubs either want way to much for them or want to keep them. Maybe not Welbeck but I reckon we could have agreed a deal for Rose for a lot less then they would want now.

it's shooting that would worry me. Playing as an out and out winger think he could excel. Wouldn't work as an inside forward which is what I think we'll play with next season, but if he came back next season he'd be played more as a wingback than a full back and I think the would suit him perfectly. Overlapping the inside forward adding width and adding crossing options by hitting the byline.
Works both ways though. If we pay £8m and he's total shat, then we are screwed. Wish we had got DG on a loan and we could have sent the bugger back by now with minimal cost.
