A number of Premier League and Championship clubs are eyeing former Newcastle misfit Xisco according to reports
The Spaniard is available on a free transfer after ending the season in his homeland at Cordoba, where he scored eight goals in 14 games.
And Xisco's UK representative, Jonathan Hope, is already in discussions with interested clubs from England ahead of a move.
"I have secured the mandate for Xisco and we are looking at a possible return to England," Hope told Sky Sports.
"Xisco had a spell at Newcastle and at that time he was a little unsettled. He has since married and had a tremendous end to the season.
"I am talking to several clubs about him and I am expecting lots of interest in him." (Source: TeamTalk)

Please God, No! Even Kinnear wouldn't do that, would he? <whistle>

It would be fate for him to sign for a lower half team and score a hattrick against us

    Married?!!

Poor lad was damned before he kicked a ball simply for what he represented. Not an awful player, will do a job for someone.

It's not what they do off the field, it's what they do on the field, unfortunately Xisco did nothing.

Huh? wasn't he like the first openly gay footballer to come on?

Oh ok, he's married a guy. Is that possible in spain? Who knows.

Good for him. Actually he was never given a chance at NUFC, who knows what he could have done. 8 in 14 is pretty good, even in 2nd division.

He's had chances with a lot of different clubs besides Newcastle, and no one has ever wanted him back. I think there must be a reason for that.

As for being gay, I've never heard anyone slag him off for being gay: just for being expensive and ineffective

Rather than create a new thread, we have been linked today with tabling a £12m bid for Wilfried Bony.

That said, it's a Talksport rumour......probably shouldn't have wasted my time writing this, tbh.

Ah screw it Nedders, every other story is horseshit too. If we refuse to discuss baseless rumours we'll have nowt to discuss.

I think the IDEA of Bony is right...in as much as we wanted Carroll back. But I worry about the many, many reports claiming he is just too immobile for the Prem. We are a fast, fast league and you only have to look at the Player of the Year shortlists and winners to see what kind of player excels. Bale, Mata, Van Persie raise the bar but are all about movement. Top goalscorers as well - Suarez, Michu, Benteke all have great intelligence and a turn of pace/skill. There's no place in either list for Carroll, Crouch and the like. I worry about getting someone like Bony with Pards/Kinnear there, because that to me screams that we'll be 4-4-2 with good ol' wingers. Which means Jonas the Ineffectual will continue on the left and Ben Arfa's mandate of "tackle more" will exist on the right. More likely we'll play a non-right winger on the right again - Sissoko, no doubt.

Bring back all the horrible memories of the tactical clown that is the manager.
