Literally he is correct so it is not worth getting drawn into a debate on it. The key is that we have spent more wisely than most clubs as well as trying to play a particular brand of football.
Of course we have , it's all relative though .What we've done is spent wisely with a great return on our assets when they've moved on , being players or coaching staff .The welcome difference to date between and most clubs is that we're nor reliant on the whims of a private owner and long may that continue although it does have it limitations on how much higher we can go
You guys have not taken the context of the thread into account, it's about how Roman changed Chelsea and the Premier League with his personal wealth and when someone brings up Swansea and how they did things differently the defence league comes out with that quote. The guy is very delusional, our success was not built on money.
All success is built on money. All teams are built on money. You buy and sell players and that's a part of football. The difference is where the owners use their own money to buy players the club can't afford. A club like Swans have built from the bottom, buying and selling players, gradually getting better. Man City and Chelsea are examples of the other way where the owners use money the club does not have...
