....... jesus ****ing crist alive !! anybody been there the last few days ? i went there today and it was almost comedy in appearence and content, i know we are waiting for new stock but **** me the tat they had on offer was almost beyond the joke! you could get a stick of swans rock, some cheap ass printed tee-shirts with chico printed on the back(probably cost about £1.50 to make) a couple of cheap ass " cup winners " tee shirts baby sized swans home kits and a couple of cardigans with a swans logo on.. One of two things to think about here. 1. Our commercial department is so ****ing brilliant they actually sold off every item of kit with extreme marketing ideas and clever product placement. 2. The commercial department has absolutly no idea what kind of numbers to order in and decided on "maybe get 50 of each is it ? that will do surely " I hope after the last 3 seasons of getting wrong/totally right they can still have some things to sell people after October, anybody know how this compares to other clubs ? my own experience in Norway is that you can go into SK Brann's shop and still get a **** load of gear which is current and plentiful, its the same at Viking in Staanger, not exactly prem league i know but you would think its these types of clubs that would be more penny pinching than a premier league club? Is it just us or is every prem club completly sold out of traing tops, tracksuits, jackets, training kit, shirts, shorts, socks, cups, dvd's,duvets, toys etc, etc. and more to the point how do we as fans who have 20% of the club make sure they give us the service and stock we require ?
Got to say Nj I am going for option 2. They are ****ing hopeless. We are without any doubt still in league to when it comes to merchandise. We must have lost millions this season on under prdering.
The best bit is the sign posts to it, they have a big banner on the corner of the south/east and nothing actually outside the shop pointing in, a couple of women walked down and thought they got it wrong and walked back, not going as far as the riverside lounge ,asking me where it was as they were told in the ticket office "its literally just around the corner of the stand" I talked to another guy and he thought he was in the ospreys shop as there was nothing of the swans in there... I wonder when the club are trying to save a few pounds on left over kit they think about the thousands they are losing in internet and walk in trade, maybe that thought hasnt crossed their minds ??
I think you over exaggerated the price of the T's @ £1.50 each cost we're getting screwed royal. More like £0.05 each from a supplier in Asia.
I thought I'd stumbled on the religion thread then Norway. I'm of the same opinion we are definitely third rate with our club shop. The bloody Pomey shop down my way is ten times better than ours.
The commercial side of the club has been woefully inadequate for several years, poor decision making on the quantity, variety, quality and pricing of stock has been there for all to see yet the commercial manager still remains in her post despite being out of her depth. How any premier league club can run out of replica shirts before Christmas and not have contigency plans for re ordering is indefensible, the income we have lost through bad decisions is huge and makes me really angry especially as we are hell bent on keeping our wage structure low so are struggling to bring in new players of real quality.
Hell guys how many times have I told you, it's run by Trotters independent trading!........................ PS; Now go take it up with Rodney & Del boy!..................
