Sunday Mirror Sport reports that Newcastle owner Mike Ashley's Joe Kinnear gamble threatens to cost him £13million.
Sunday Mirror Sport can reveal it will cost Ashley a heavy price to get rid of Alan Pardew and his backroom staff if they cannot successfully work with *Kinnear.
"Pardew and three members of his backroom staff – John Carver, Steve Stone and Andy *Woodman – were all handed eight-year contracts last summer.
"But the deals do NOT include a break clause or maximum severance agreement – meaning *Ashley would have to buy out the trio’s wages in full to get rid of them.
It would cost Ashley roughly £10.5million to sack Pardew alone and around another £2.5million to pay up Carver, Stone and Woodman.
"Ashley had to talk chief scout Graham Carr into staying at Newcastle, following Kinnear’s appointment, although club insiders still fear the 68-year-old could review his position again.
"Carr also has seven years remaining on his contract, worth roughly £1million.
"But he would not be entitled to any *compensation if he *resigned."

Huge sum if true but given the source you'd have to doubt the validity of this information. We can only really work on the facts which is Derek has gone, JK has come in, nothing much further than that really. If I was placing a bet, mine would be on it costing Mike no more than 1m to remove Pardew.

 

Anything to do with Kinnear is a **** up.

 

Point was it was actually Alan Pardew who said his contract wasn't just a flat 8 years. All this speculation is just laughable.

I have it on good authority you didn't actually do that. Pardew sneaked in and put it in when you went to check on the red head in your dungeon.

 

He gives pardew a 8 year contract. He cant sack him as it will cost him 10 million, you had a pretty bad season last season and he could have gone.

He brings in JK who is not the best appointment in the world, maybe its to piss Pardew off so Pardew has no option but to walk away, if he walks away he doesnt have to pay him anything, say thanks to JK for saving him 10 million+ JK retires you get a new manager.

Just my mad speculation mind but i can see it being something Ashley would do if they ****ed up Pardews contract (and it may be why DL resigned as well), but it does sound like the old woman who swallowed a fly, trying to fix a problem with an even bigger problem, if it works great, but if Pardew digs in it could bring the club to its knees. (or at least cost Ashley some cash).
