Not spending money/going to the games won't hurt Ashley financially anyway. Owning a football club is not a money spinner other than as a marketing vehicle, or a very expensive toy. If you want to hit him in the wallet boycott one of his many high street shops as these are his revenue streams. Not going to games or spending money at SJP means that as a supporter of an essentially self sufficient club you are deny the team not the owner your hard earned cash.

Not saying people are wrong to boycott the games on principle (I think a full game walk out by fans or a polish style sitting in silence would be great as a form of public protest). But the notion that not paying for things newcastle united related will hit Ashley in the pocket isn't wholly accurate.

No need for a protest in any form, just get on with it. Is what it is.

Short term cash flow would hit him, but being a billionaire he wouldn't see it as much of a concern.
Rather than having peaks and troughs of income, he would have a steady stream throughout the year and long term be better off being that an individual ticket (x19 min) would cost more than the bulk buy discount of a season ticket.
Whilst fans may not buy for less attractive games, box office matches would allow a premium.
A substantial drop on in ground sales and a pre match, backs to the directors box silence (to signify the death of common sense perhaps), would have more of an effect.

I dunno, I'm not stopping my support of the team or my going to games. I've seen just as bad if not worse in the 80s, but I understand why people want to protest at the appointment of Kinnear and the pig headed way it was done. But the idea of boycotting or not spending to spite Ashley doesn't weigh up fully.

Madness. It did need refurbishing, so I understand the reasons for a full overhaul. Especially as the area has become more developed (new uni building etc.). But why not just keep the name? It's almost as if the owners are intentionally trying to piss the fans off.

Alan Shearer = Newcastle and England Legend

Joe Kinnear = someone trying to tarnish the reputation of your great club from the inside!

Hope common sense and football prevails

Good luck for the new season except when you play us - Tigers fan in peace :D
