Swansea City among favourites for Premier League top six! Please don't jinx us! http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...swansea-city-among-favourites-premier-4570431
No jinx just hi-jinx Swan We can expect less than zero support and loads of inflamatory reports about us from the Cardiff rag this season
Stumpy! Why are you so dismissive of that article. I think it is a realistic pre-season assessment and quite complimentary in fairness. Why do so many of you always have a negative outlook to the media?
Negative outlook to the media? I don't I have an absolute loathing of these people , the Swansea Evening Post are a disgrace and have been instrumental of almost all the palaver around Laudrup for the last few weeks! Their one priority is to dish the crap out to sell newspapers, they have alienated swans fans completely, I know loads of people who don't buy this **** paper any more. As for the western mail, they are a Cardiff paper full of Cardiff fans, I never pay attention to what Cardiff fans say at the best of times, I certainly don't pay attention to a newspaper with those fans writing articles about the swans, I haven't even read what this article says as I can't be bothered .
Jager! It's all about opinions fella, just like these forums everyone has there own. I would read the article if I were you and judge for yourself if it is inflammatory.
There's nothing anti Swansea City in this particular article,so I am inclined to agree with the first part of IT's post. However, what IT must realise is that any "negative outlook to the media",particularly with regards the Western Mail, and it's online segment,is historically based. Both of those outlets are Cardiff centred, and not only in sport. They seem to feel that the World, and Wales in particular, begins and ends with the Capital City.
I know it's about opinions, but I don't read newspapers at all, and I certainly don't believe anything they print. The BBC are as far I stretch, sometimes skysports news and that's it.
Before we can think about a top 6 team we will need top 6 players and the way we went through the second half of the season then we will be lucky to stay out of the relegation zone...We need some quality players before i will be happy enough that we will not struggle this season with or without laudrup in charge...
''Regulation Zone '' WTF please log in to view this image I wonder if this is near the '' Neutral Zone '' The Klingon is back I see !
I would not be so cocky ffs ...there are plenty that think we will go down this season.....Im hoping we see sense and let the manager pick the players we need and not jinx and the board do that role....We are not in the lower leagues now where cheap is always the answer and we wont always be lucky enough to find a michu to save us.....Dont listen to predictions by the press or bookies as they have had us relegated for certain previous seasons and now they say we could be top 6....well we could go down the way things are going so i dont know where they think we could be a top 6 team...not the way we finished last season and the way jinx is acting...
I've noticed the Western Mail have to give their rag out for free in the Swansea Bay region these days
Crap sensationalist journalism again. If you care to read the whole article and then check where they have got their data (Paddy Power odds), you would find the truth. We are actually eleventh favourite to finish in the top 6...hardly amongst the "favourites"as suggested! https://android.paddypower.mobi/#!p...one.t?eventId=5323510&typeId=11459&classId=50
The reason they think we are good for a top six Dai, is simply because of our board, and progress through adversity every season, and the fact that they are all now realising we have a top class graduating school for managers, so less of the relegation twoddle!.................
If we do well in the cups it will stretch the squad thus I fear we will finish lower in the league this season. As it stands (if we sign Amat, Pozeulo or whatever and Canas) then we will still finish lower than last year. If we get dumped out of Europe early then I reckon we will finish top 10 again. If we sign Gomis then we could achieve top 10 and a decent run in Europe. You know what though? I really don't care. Come on next season, come on you Swans! Let's be having you!
If we can stick around in Europe, the one good thing is that the likes of Jazz even without injuries in the squad are going to get games, which can only be good for him
Jaz needs to be playing regular football if he is to get better and he needs to go out on loan to a championship club or be sold if he has no future at the club other than a bit part player....It would be a waste of time on his part...
I like Jazz, he has the potential to be a Premier league star in my view, hope he gets a fair run of games next season!..............
