We are certainly operating in a much higher thought process at the club these days. Athletico Madrid; Inter; Spurs and City are pretty decent fayre to get our pre-season up and running. Also, very good PR getting us some global circulation. I'm getting to like this new thinking.
Very much so. I would much rather play quality opposition then play weak teams pre-season. perfect for the reserve squad but in terms of the first team this is much more like it. We're going to be much better prepared.

If only I was 40 this year. I love my wife and daughter and this would be an amazing trip to go on if given the pass. I'm saving that special signature for when we actually play in Europe. That will be some trip...
Hope we play Hartlepool again because last year it was class. The Darlo game will be pointless because it will be our B team who will be playing.
For those of you planning the trip, an Inter-supporting mate has told me the match is likely to be played at a place called Pinzolo (just type the place name in at http://maps.google.it/ and PINZOLO or PINZOLO TN will pop up). Because it is so ****ing hot in Italy in the summer, teams who can afford it **** off to the mountains and do their pre-season preparation there. They even have a name for this, "ritiro", which I'm often asked the English word for, but, er, we don't get 40°C in Sunderland and have to do training up Scottish mountains or wherever!
