Who knows, maybe you will hit the ground running but yes, it is rough looking, and September has also got two tough looking games unless Wigan and Brighton are not up to it
I think the start of the season is always a tricky one to predict...it NEVER pans out the way it should do on paper, and there always teams that you don't expect, to have a decent start, whereas some of the big boys take a while to settle into the the championship. One thing i'm glad about is, WE ARE FINALLY AT HOME ON THE LAST DAY OF THE SEASON!!!
Have you seen the prem fixtures? And more interestingly, is the Budgies last four games of the season..Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal.....lets hope for their sake they have reached the 44 point mark by then!!
surely ALL fixtures in the championship look tough because there is so little between all the teams? no gimmies in that division!
Like the league table itself, its hard to make any predictions based on the fixture list until around the 10th game. But saying that, by the looks of it, a good start for us would be a very good start.
I reckon 5 points from August will be par for the course from those fixtures, but as others have said you never know about the teams coming down, Reading won't change that much from last season season so thats really tough, QPR will be changing personnel so could be good to catch them early! As for the budgies last 4 games, I predict some flapping of the wings in a panic come March!
Would take 5 points from the first 4 games. Gutted that Reading away is in August as I'm at Uni there and this is before term time.
Agree Supers I looked at the fixture list and they all look difficult fixtures!! I have to say I always prefer to get the bigger/favourites out of the way with first before they get chance to get on a good run. Some of the teams who have come down take a while to get used to the league again or take a few games to get going!!!
We have to play all the other teams twice in the season so not really bothered, bring it on! The only thing that really takes the piss is Doncaster away on Boxing Day, yet another Away game on Boxing day FFS! 3 days later another Away trip to Bournemouth!Yeovil away on a Tuesday night and a 445 Miles round trip. Whoever thought that these fixtures would be a good idea is a complete and utter ****ing Moron! No home games over the Christmas period is a bloody disgrace and a slap in the face for all Town supporters!
I must admit that there must be a better way to arrange the closer fixtures on midweek than Yeovil! Its pretty ****ty that they pair up 2 away games like Doncaster and Bournemouth over christmas, saying that I'm off over christmas so might put the idea in mrs Guru about going away to the new forest for a little break!
Yeovil away on a Tuesday night..(Richard Head is the guy who sorts the fixtures)..I think this may be a poorest Town away following of the season...!
Whoever thought up Middlesboro Away on the Saturday followed by Yeovil away the following tuesday need locking up in a lift with a talkative Norwich Fan!
Great fixture list! 30 minute jaunt to the Keepmoat on Boxing Day after turkey sandwiches, 14 games within an hour spread nicely throughout the season with 3 in April for the climax of our promotion campaign - lovely stuff
I sadly can't get to any matches so the travelling side of the fixture list doesn't bother me. If we are good enough we will take points no matter who we play or when we play them so let's just get it started already. Welcome back Hampy, I hope you are feeling recharged after your break
