Newcastle United Managing Director, Derek Llambias, has resigned from his position with immediate effect.

Llambias said: “I have had an incredible journey during my five years at the club, including some challenging times. I will reflect with great fondness on my time in the North East and, in me, Newcastle United have a lifelong supporter.

“I want to thank the staff for their hard work, our fans for their support of the club, and wish them all well for the future.”

The dominoes have started to fall, David err.....Dave Lambeze has left the club.
    Thoughts?

Personally I'm feeling indifferent about this. Our club has already been made into a laughing stock and this move right now just means that effectively JFK is now a significant part of the powers that be for us, for better or for worse.
Will Llambias leaving ultimately be the lesser of two evils for us? Only time will tell..

Whatever the reason for his departure timing is everything and I like many others will link this to the appointment of Joke in Ear.

Like many, I won't be too sad to see Llambias go. I don't think he was that switched on when it came to transfers and often drove impossible negotiations; probably as accountable as anyone at the club for the failure last season. His PR and communication were just non-existent, which isn't really good enough given the owner is pretty much a hermit.

However, it all looks very, very, very odd. It's really almost impossible to try and grasp what's happening. It's the kind of aimless buffooning you could find at the likes of Luton Town in yesteryear, not at a club as large as ours.

I always felt that, one day, a large club would simply collapse and it would be the catalyst for improving the situation for all. Looks like we're currently favourites for the job.

Sorry, had to add - my conspiracy theory about Joe mispronouncing names leading to exits is confirmed. Not one day after he calls him Lambeezy is he out the door. Kebab, Amamobi and Galterrez next out the door.

Pfft. No hope. He's the only person in the world who calls him Michael. Seriously.

Not fussed one way or the other about his departure. My concern would be the true reason he is going and the timing of it.
My fear at the moment is the confusion and destabilisation of the club, during what it is crucial time ref transfer activity, both incoming and outgoing.
Hope it all settles quickly and they get on with the job in hand, but a can sense a repeat of last seasons fiasco on the cards.

There is surely little doubt that Llambias leaving is a result of Kinnear joining. Unfortunately there is a good chance that having Kinnear in charge of transfers etc will make us miss Llambias. Something I would not have thought possible.

What I find kinda funny is if we get to 1st September and there's no players, we have the loudest, shoutiest fcker in World football to get an answer from. No more silence - more like "that c*** Charnley ain't got the balls to write the fackin cheques, 'as 'e. Tryin' to deal wiv these fackin foreigners is impossible - they don't speak none of wot I speak, so when I'm arskin' abaht Dogmess they don't understaaaaand."

It's like Ashley saying "you thought Pardew was a sh!t manager? Did you forget this clown? And if you think Llambias is a bad CEO, take a butchers at this embarrassing twot." Two birds, one Joke.

Have to say due to the timing of this I think it is bad news. It's no secret that DL was Pardew's most loyal supporter from within the club. I can see Pardew leaving a week before or in to the season if we don't make the correct signings and JK stepping in. For all of DL's faults he'd began to get a good handle on what is needed to run a football club in the last 18 months and for much as I wanted Pardew gone you have to admire him for sticking to his plan of stability and longevity.

Some scary times ahead for us fans I fear...

A good time to lay Newcastle for relegation and then to back the odds later when the market settles down from silly mode.

At the moment one can lay relegation at 10s and within a week or so one should be able to get to back out of it at around 15s or 16s. A good chance to make a few percent in a few weeks.

Either's fine. I have a babelfish for Joe's ramblings, so whatever he says enters my brain as coherent english.

The trouble with this is, it leaves a vacancy at the club that again could be filled by someone even more contemptible.

With Mike in the mood he's in I expect it'll be one of these disgraced ex-bankers from the city, perfect for scurrying money away on the sly.

I've got to say that whatever your opinion on Llambias, he did do some positive things for the club during his tenure and to be hung out to dry by a so-called friend is pretty rotten.
We still have to remember that the few players at the club today that we value and admire simply wouldn't be there had it not been for Llambias sanctioning and implementing those signings. Whether you like that or not it is true.

Frankly insulted by Kinnear on Monday and then given the kind of curt, ungrateful statement on the website – no thanks for your efforts, best wishes or anything.

Most of us may not feel that way and couldn't care less, but surely Ashley does or what's the point of him employing these guys? Utterly, utterly classless.

Fact is, Llambias stood up and took all the flak from his boss' lunatic decisions during his five years and at least he occasionally (perhaps begrudgingly) had the balls to converse with us.

He won't be missed I'm sure but I have more respect for him than I do for Ashley, especially if he's gone based on Joe's idiotic interview...

Yeah, Llambias was a stand-up guy full of truths and ambition...

    http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor.../derek-llambias-newcastle-united-want-2061454

"Newcastle United will look to improve their global presence by ensuring they are amongst the Premier League’s box office attractions when it comes to pre-season tours in the next few years."

    Ok....St Mirren, then?

"And while the black and whites are still not in position to announce their summer plans just yet, Llambias told the Chronicle: “In pre-season we would like to go the States again. We’re working on that.

“Perhaps Brazil or the States or somewhere around that way. We were let down last year in South Africa by broadcasters.”

Ok....so the answer was to try AGAIN with the South African thing? Awesome job, Derek.

Not sure he was really ever right.
