Apologies if you've covered this in the past.

Let me start you off with a couple of recent ones, one obvious and one perhaps a bit less so.

    1. Lee Trundle v Palace in the Play Off semi Final 2nd leg 2008. This was probably my favourite City game ever (that I was at), going all the way back to the late 60's. The game had everything - a pleasant evening, capacity crowd, expectation, TV cameras, Warnock, Palace goal to level things up, Ben Watson's penalty miss 13 minutes from time... And then that moment towards the end of the first half of extra time. I was sitting with my nephew in, i think the G or H block of the Dolman, so we were almost level with Trundle as he shot. The outpouring of emotion and joy as that one hit the net... amazing. Followed up by McIndoe's goal from the free kick, the pitch invasion afterwards, and singing "Beagrie, Beagrie give us a wave" down in front of Sky's commentary box. And he did.

    2. Bradley Orr v Carlisle, at Brunton Park in April 2007. One of the easier games for me to get to as I was living in Leeds. For those of you who went, remember that the run-down terraced "away end" behind one of the goals was closed off, so we were allocated the last couple of sections of one of the side stands, close to the away end? John Ruddy was our emergency keeper that day. Carlisle went in front after about 10 mins at the away end due to some crap defending. We came back to lead 2-1 towards the end of the game, amid our chants of "The Reds are going up" and earlier, "Small town in Scotland, you're just a small town in Scotland". I remember one of the home fans in the section closest to ours REALLY getting upset at that chant, it looked like he'd have a heart attack. Steady on mate! Anyway, City were attacking the away end, closest to us. Six minutes to go. Bradders broke down the right flank, in front of us, then cut inside, maybe 5 yards in front of the corner of their penalty area. We were absolutely right behind him, viewing wise. He pushed the ball inside, playing a one-two with someone (don't remember who offhand). Without breaking stride, Bradders stroked a curling shot into the top of the far corner. Honest, it was magic. We were sat right behind Orr's cut-in and shot, and it was beautiful. You can see it on the 07-08 promotion season DVD, but the camera angle from the other side of the pitch just doesn't do justice to the beautiful curl of the shot. I so wish someone in our crowd had captured that on a phone. Anyway, that topped off a 3-1 win and promotion soon after.

I'm sure I'll think of more later, but those two have stood out in my mind these past few years. I throw the topic open...

Maynard's goal against Coventry when we drew 1-1, Quality goal but he didn't do average goals.

Chris Iwelumo's goal against crystal palace away, Was the first time ive seen city win away in the league and was even better hearing all the palace fans going absolutely quiet

Many more that ill remember later.

    Maynard v QPR
    Cheesley v Arsenal
    Tinman v Liverpool
Ritchie v York I think 3rd goal his hat trick about the only goal he scored from outside the box(perhaps a slight exageration but I remember something in the green un that he thought it was the longest shot he ever scored) circa 75 either 74/75 or 75/76

Slightly off topic who remembers a football cartoon strip in a comic called Billy's boots?

I often think that Lee Trundle was like that he left his 'Magic daps' behind in Swansea when he traveled across the bridge to Bristol.

Jimmy Mann v Forest 1974- Forest were european champions and had class running through their side with Shilton in goal. Mann picked the ball up and hit one from about 35 yards right on the stamp with Shilts clutching at thin air

I also remember one game, pretty sure it was against Wrexham. Tont Thorpe lobbed the goalkeeper from about 35 yards and a few minutes later, Peter Beadle volleyed a goal kick from Phillips in on the full from about 40 yards out. Both goaols featured the next week on Soccer ams Better than Pele!

I'll go back a lot further for John Atyeo at Villa Park FA Cup 1957.
Pitch very heavy, lots of rain and he hit an absolute screamer with his left foot from about 35 yards. Nigel Sims was clutching the air as it thundered past him into the roof of the net. Top class from Big John.

City lost 1-2 and Villa went on to win the Final v Man U.

The big turning point in that was when McParland of Villa shoulder charged United keeper Ray Wood, fracturing Wood's jaw. Jackie Blanchflower went in goal and the injured Wood finished the game at outside right. Today that incident would have been a red card for the villa player but in 1957, not even a free kick was given.

It's not often I comment on here but this caught my eye.

My most memorable goal was Tinman v Liverpool.

My most memorable goalscorer was David Seal. Didn't do much else but definately did not score tap ins.

Ray Cashley's goal against Hull. God knows when it was but I remember it like yesterday!

Nicky Maynards against QPR has still got to be one of the best ever - if Messi, Beckham, Pele, etc. had scored it, it would have been shown at least once a month somewhere ever since!
