As an aside, although related in general, I see in the Express it claims both Hooper and Forster have asked to leave Celtic. Fraser Forster could be a possibility for a cheeky little bid?
I suspect Hooper has had his head turned by a prospect of joining us in BPL, I dont think he will go to a Championship club.
It's being reported differently at our end. Our local rag say that we bid £1.25m and £1.75m, both of which were rejected, but following the the last bid Leicester suggested that if we included Hobbs in a deal, then it would be considered. It seems we don't want to, but it's indicated to us that Scheichel can leave if the deal is right, so we're bidding again.
I agree John, I would prefer if Hobbs is going to be used as make weight to get Curtis Davis, and sign McGregor.
Im sorry but that is disgraceful. Hobbs is a model professional, first in to training every day, gives 100% in every session, brilliant ambassador off the pitch and you call him "a boring ****". Would you rather have Jimmy 'comedy genius' Bullard? ****ing disgusting way to talk about one of our players. This whole 'makeweight' talk sits a little uncomfotrably with me. Yes Hobbs might struggle in the EPL as he has the turning circle of a glacial plate, but I also think he at least deserves a chance to prove himself or otherwise. I'm worried we're falling into the trap of last time and signing more gifted players with questionnable attitudes over players who would run through brick walls for the shirt. I think we will definitely sign McGregor come what may. If Schmeichel gets injured or suspended, all we have is "Old Butter Gloves" Jakupovic!!
Agree. We need 2 keepers but cant see it being Schmeihel and Mcgregor. Both would only sign as first choice.
I agree with this (sits down due to slight light-headedness!). I think £2m plus Hobbs is way too much, plus I think it's an unwarranted kick in the teeth for Jack. He more than anyone deserves a shot at the Premier League. Even if he fails, he deserves a chance. How can Alex Bruce (no disrespect to Alex) be kept and Hobbsy offloaded. Not right! Not happy!
