WTF?? The appointment of Joe Kinnear as Director of Football by Ashley, and Kinnear's strong statement regarding transfer policy is clearly a tactic to unsettle Pardew. You can only think the end game is to get the Manager to quit.

Ashley made a spectacular boob when he gave Pardew an unprecedented eight year contract, and after last season's struggles the Chairman seems to have lost his nerve, and in a hissy fit has withdrawn his support for Pardew. He needs Pardew to quit, and all this with so many years still left on the Manager's contract.

Expect an unhappy season ahead at Newcastle, can't see Pardew taking this lying down. Kinnear is not going to take the Toon forward, and Ashley seems to be back to his irrational ways once again. He doesn't have the money of Abramovich to be petulant though.

Oh well, suppose Toon will tell us it's a nice problem to have compared to Leeds who have invisible owners with no money at all.

They'd be better off with Roy Kinnear and he's dead.

According to some reports today, Kinnear made the story up or something or somebody did

Interesting Eire. He did a live telephone interview with Sky yesterday, think he jumped the gun before Toon announced it. Ashley suddenly saw the backlash from Toon supporters and may well have decided to pull the plug on a very bad idea. Can't make it up!!

Kinnear, like Venables, Graham etc are too long out of football. It's moved on since they last managed. Liverpool found that with Dalglish and dare I say it, so did we with warnock

Newcastle announced it today so it's a done deal, a very foolish one, but nevertheless done.

You'd think they would have learnt after the Wise fiasco a few seasons ago.

Looks like Ashley has lost trust in Pardew in the transfer market and I'm not suprised after buying the load he did last season and ending so close to the foot of the Premier League

Maybe Ashley looking for a cheap way out of Pardews contract. No compensation if he walks, though I suppose Pardew could claim constructive dismissal.

And now Llambias has resigned. This thread is well titled.

For the people thinking this is to get pardew to resign to avoid massive compensation, there's a rumoured clause in the contract to allow him to be released with minimal compensation. The rumours were around a total of 1 years pay. Not 100% on the validity though

Joker Near isn't going to improve Newcastle, so its a blindingly ridiculous appointment that EVERYONE sees, except Mike Ashley. What is his agenda? Is he taking the wee wee out of Toon supporters? New Ken Bates maybe?
