Not even thinking about it til August and IMO, the cut off should be the 31st August/1st September. The first few games can be irrelevant to the season anyway.
have to disagree, Man Utd could play City and Chelsea first 2 games and lose and throw them straight out of the title race.
My prediction is as follows:- 1.Man City 2.Chelsea 3.Man Utd 4.SAINTS 5.Arsenal 6.Spurs 7.Liverpool 8.Swansea 9.Aston Villa 10.West Ham 11.Everton 12.Fulham 13.Norwich 14.Crystal Palace 15.West Brom 16.Newcastle 17.Cardiff 18.Stoke 19.Sunderland 20.Hull My prediction for the 3 promoted sides are: Brighton Reading Leeds
You really think that would throw them out the title race after two games? Then you are very naive. We cold lose out first four games with the worst goal difference in premier league history and be bankers to be relegated.....Oh we did that and we weren't.
I think you could be out of the race very early, maybe not 2 games but you could get a feel of how Mourinho, Pellegrini and Moyes have got their teams playing. The whole idea of the game is to try and predict the final table before a ball has been kicked.
That's fine. I'll wait til just before the first game then, but that's still two weeks worth of potential mega signings to come. Don't agree with you on the title race. Look at year before last: City were what, 8points behind end of march? Ask a Newcastle fan; 12/13 points ahead of united at the end of January and United win the title. 38 games and anything can happen. What you are saying is look at the league table in say mid-September and that's close to that. Going by this, Blackpool were 4th or 5th near end of September in their season; Tottenham second bottom in October and finished 5th or 6th? Every season I don't take notice of the table for 10-12 games minimum.
Good idea MorgansBitOnTheSchneid 1) Chelsea 2) Man Utd 3) Arsenal 4) Man City 5) Liverpool 6) Spurs 7) Everton 8) Saints 9) Swansea 10) West Ham 11) West Brom 12) Fulham 13) Aston Villa 14) Sunderland 15) Newcastle 16) Norwich 17) Cardiff 18) Stoke 19) Hull 20) Crystal Palace 1) Blackpool 2) Burnley 3) QPR
1. Man City 2. Man United 3. Arsenal 4. Chelsea 5. Spurs 6. Liverpool 7. Swansea 8. Everton 9. Aston Villa 10. West Ham 11. Saints 12. Newcastle 13 West Brom 14. Sunderland 15. Cardiff 16. Stoke 17. Fulham 18. Crystal Palace 19. Norwich 20. Hull 1. Reading 2. Leeds 3. Watford
And we had 0 from 4, but it ended up ok. PS You can see when a post is last edited so shouldn't be any need to copy and paste people's predictions. If you give this a bump a week or two before the first game you might get more replies.

7th. I don't care in which particular order the others are. They only exist to give us teams to play against, after all.
This thread makes me hate Southampton fans. Are you all high? i see 6th 5th 7th even 4th Id be happy with 10th. This is the sort of optimism which sees everyone on this board abusing the team when we're 17th come November

I and i assume most would be happy with 10th by why cant we be optimistic? People need to remember the direction we are going and try and embrace it.
You don't get many more positive about this club than me, however as I mentioned on one I the other threads recently, we must stay grounded. Thankfully Fran has put 11th. Some of the others make it look like a fantasy league. I am your original Happy Clapper as nominated by GMI, yet even I think we need to manage those expectations. I don't particularly like NorthLondonSaint's postings, however it it true that with this ambition of 4th, 5th and 6th for next season, we will have the team being slagged off if Fran is right and we finish 8th-11th. I'm continually reminding people to embrace where we are going but this is OTT. You should change it to "where do you want Saints to finish" Rome wasn't built in a day.
