I saw we were linked with him this morning... http://blog.squawka.com/2013/06/17/...r-sub-transfer-scouting-report/2013061710884?
Because they all use the same syndicated report. Hence the same spelling mistakes and ****ty grammar appear in all the Red Tops.
we got fig.. whatever from Wigan http://www.footballcourier.com/news...ender-maynor-figueroa-on-a-free-transfer.html
Linked to Ross Turnbull this morning. It's probably easier to list the keepers we haven't been linked to!
I think we can forget all the keepers now, we're going to have one more go with Schmeichel and if it fails we'll get McGregor.
It struck me this morning with this story about making Hobbs as make weight for the Shmeichel, is this a red herring to push Lee Clark's hand regarding Curtis Davis, as he is keen on Hobbs as well?
Even so we'll be signing another keeper as back up, maybe even 2. Why did we sign 3 keepers last time in the PL? Is mandatory or just precaution? The Ox will be out on loan, the Jak will be traded.
Most teams in the PL have 3 goalkeepers. I honestly don't think our Eldin will leave, as 3rd choice its incredibly unlikely he'll get a game, but he has another year on his deal and it'll be cheaper to keep him than let him go and bring in another goalkeeper (that'll be 3 then).
I think we'll probably try and trade Jakupovic for a new No.2, but Oxley will be No.3(possibly allowed out on loan, but with an immediate recall option).
St Etienne's Max Gradel has told Sky Sports he will not be joining Hull City. The ex-Leeds winger has been linked with the Tigers and Cardiff. He said: "I love England but at the moment I like it here in France. Hull City and Cardiff are good teams but the Premier League will be tough for them, but they can surprise like Swansea." Oxley is over 21 isn't he? That means he has to be declared in our 23-man squad and that has to be done at the end of August and January. I can't see us wasting a space on a 3rd choice goalkeeper who is getting loaned out anyway. Then there's the loan rules which I think forbid you from recalling loans outside a transfer window, unless you get special dispensation (which can happen for goalkeepers, as it did with Gulacsi) but even then I think both clubs would have to agree to it.
I guess the above gives the reasons for signing Warner last time in the PL. it was a very rushed transfer.
