Who knows was the truth is.? I suspect that Given will now go back to Celtic where it all started out.
On Wiki: "On 18 July 2011, Given joined Aston Villa for a fee believed to be around £3.5 million. He signed a five-year contract, meaning that he will be 40 when his contract expires." If he's on £80k per week until 2016 I doubt he will leave Villa unless they give him a massive pay-off.
Holy ****ing cow, Jennings to udders/Barnsley... Mental. Seriously thought one of the PL big boys would have took him on, he was rated very highly at Bayern and they didn't want to lose him but he was homesick. Will be interesting to see how his career pans out, definitely a star in there but moving to Bayern was obviously a bad move.
Hopefully there's no way we're willing to pay out £70k a week in wages along with a fee of £6M for Bent, that sounds much too similar to the Bullard scenario, hopefully lazy journalism http://www.newcastleunited-mad.co.u...newcastle_to_bent_signing_797812/index.shtml?
Don't think anyone will be paying him seventy grand. However if we could get him for 6million and Villa keep paying half his wage to free up 35k a week in there budget it could be a good deal. Certainly a proven premier league goalscorer.
Anyone 'homesick' being at Bayern and wanting to swap it for barnsley or Udders is clearly a knob. Why are professional footballers from England so desperate to stay here? See the ****ing world whilst earning amazing salaries you twerp.
He's being with everybody, I've seen him linked with Fulham, Norwich, Swansea, Villa, Cardiff and us.
I think Bruce is the key to players coming here. I think he would command a lot of respect from players. But our wages offered wouldn't have to differ wildly from what other clubs offer.
Unfortunately not, I don't think they'll let him go for less than £5m and I expect he'll have a few Premier League options.
Darren Bent update. It's also in The Sun so it must be true - forget it. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...sfer-Hull-to-bid-for-Aston-Villa-striker.html
If Rhodes wants to play in the PL anytime soon then he will have to drop that wage and come back to what he is actually worth. If he wont then he has no ambition. We only want players who want to play for the club. In saying thay, The Allams have said that we shall have a couple of "marquee signings" come the big kick off. So who falls into that catagory then ?
Udinese have turned down an £8m bid from an unnamed prem club for Matej Vydra. Surprised they turned that down and wonder which team tabled the bid.
During that transfer window Julian Lescott moved from Everton to Manchester City for £24m and noway is he that much better than Turner. Then or now. It would not have been as bad if Hull City had received the full £4m but we had to pay £1.2m of that to Brentford. So it was a bad deal for Hull City along with 95% of the other deals Paul Dufferman took charge and kick backs in. Very true. I wonder what will happen this time next year with Turner ? He would be perfect to come back to Hull City as a replacenment for FAYE next summer as a FAT. Indeed nobody would. But, Maybe we should ask Villa to let him go for nowt and we take over his playing contract ? lol. With today being D-day or Poyet day in Brighton i suspect that he will want out sooner rather than later especially if PL clubs are looking. But Luis McGugan is a similar option and best of all he is a FAT. All the red tops are today plus others. The media generally think that there is something in this rumour.
