Morning Folks, With Sam Byram apparantly injured, could this be a blessing in disguise? If he is injured, he won't be able to pass a medical, surely? There is a doubt in the back of my mind that it could have possibly meant that a transfer was imminent, buta week has passed with little speculation about his future, so, maybe he is actually injured. Shame we don't know the extent of his injury.... The latest player being linked to Elland Road is Anthony Stokes who has fallen out of favour with Celtic. If we fail to land Kevin Doyle, and he does indeed join the hoops, Celtic will want to offload Stokes. To be honest, I don't really know much about Stokes, apart from Mark Hughers paid 2m for him once... Who is likely to be our main two strikers this coming season. Would Stokes or Dotle be automatic starters? Is Ross guaranteed a start? Is Morison as useless as what the Wall tell us?

Morning!! Doyle won't happen, wages way out of our league. Stokes not good enough for the Championship, really hope we don't sign him. Jason, we may as well go for a 1-10 formation and try and win 22-21 every week.
There hasn't been that much speculation around Byram this summer anyway. Or not compared to what there was with Gradel, Snoddy and Becchio I would say that Ross is a definite starter with his partner having to prove themselves. It'll probably be Morison in fairness if he has a good pre-season as he has already done quite well at this level with Smith and whoever else we sign pushing him and keeping him on his toes at all time. McDermott did say last season that he thought Morison had absolutely no competition for his place. I do think we should be focusing more on a CB, CMs and wingers

Morning all - Nobody can sign Byram until the end of the month, if he is on the way out I would imagine it will be kept quiet so his departure can be kept a secret until the board attempt to please us with a big name loan signing as per usual.

Afternoon All, I seem to remember we were looking at him a few years back. I think when Gary Mac was in charge (think it was him). I seemed to remember we turned down the opportunity to buy him because Stokes himself turned us down on our first approach. Gary said we would only sign players that wanted to play for us (i.e. players that hadnt turned down the opportunity before) then went on to sign someone else who had done the same. Cant remember who the player was (Showumni?) but I remember the incredulous contradiction at the time I think we should be doing better than Stokes. Although he does tick the box cos he's Irish?
