Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio will fine any players who return for pre-season training more than two kilograms overweight. http://www.football365.com/news/215...oss-Paolo-Di-Canio-to-fine-overweight-players just as well Titus has been shown the door the poor fella would be made broke next season
I think that's reasonable, provided of course he informed them of this before they started their break.
They are professional athletes and as such should act like professional athletes. Staying in shape, should be mandatory if im honest.
Titus is a fat cun# glad he's gone.. This is a very interesting article. It has it's pro's and cons, firstly in my opinion it's great to have a coach who is strict on diet and routine, although if a player cant go out on holidays and eat an ice cream or 2 then their's something wrong.. The pre season is long enough for the player's to get back into shape, I love pdc's enthusiasm and structure altough if breached to the extreme players can backfire on him.. I'm all for discipline/routine/structure but when you can't fart/breathe without being punished it's a little excessive.
Step too far Paolo, imagine your on your hols and you hear your boss whinging on about whats going to happen when you get back.................... At this rate there will be a few homes in Darras Hall and East Durham re-possessed. Its all getting a bit tiresome now I'm afraid, lets have some positives from him.

Tidied. I don`t think it`s unreasonable either mate & 2k`s a fair margin. 4.4lb = a canny few cornets. Hope he`s not taking the discipline thing too far though.
what you on about? he hasnt said that players cant eat or enjoy tehmselves on holiday, just that it doesnt get excessive. 2 kg is a fair amount
I dont know what 2kg is in real terms. Eg. is it like 3 kebabs and 10 pints? More? Less? On that scale. I don't know how many pints (of standard lager) go in to a (typical doner) kebab. Maybe it could go: Pint Chips Garlic Bread Kebab Parmo Deep fried pizza You get the drift.
how much more positive can you get, if you want to treat it as non positive , you are not at the races
Sorry I agree with Hans another negative headline could have told them before they went and didn't need to say it publicly. Very Negative on Di Canio's part trying to drive players out!
neville southall, and tommy lawrence , wish they had listened, how about if a player comes off holiday under weight, a bonus perhaps
Don`t agree. Telling it like it is isn`t negative. All PDC is saying is that the players will be superfit. This will help lead to success. They will be here for that reason & not an easy payday. Can`t see anything wrong with that tbh.
As long as they were told about it before they went away and again, would you want to read about it on your hols. 2 kg is a good night out on the town, a take away and your Sunday dinner........what do you think they they have pre-season training for? If this is true then as I said - it is just a step too far.
