Mozambique 0-1 Egypt. Egypt qualifies for the playoffs, joining Ivory Coast, Tunisia and surprise team Ethiopia as the first 4 of 10 teams that will contest the playoffs for 5 World Cup places. Algeria can possibly join these four by the time today's games are over, while the other five won't be decided until the next (final) matchday in September.

Fathi played the 90 minutes and Elmohamady played the 2nd half. It could have ended been 4-0 for Egypt as we wasted so many good chances in the 2nd half (one of them by Elmo, following some great play by Fathi, who put him through on goal) though the poor artificial turf didn't help. But Elmo was generally poor with an inordinate amount of mispasses and one horrible cross.

Not really, lol ;). I live in Alexandria though so it's not like I see them everyday. But I expect even "cairotes" don't hate the Pyramids. It's pretty grand stuff. I do hate them when they're in every patriotic video/image/montage yeah...

It hasn't traditionally been a common name here but right now, surprisingly, it is pretty common for Copts/Christians. Starting from my generation actually. There's a Saint Andrew that Copts here know as "Andrawos", but it sounds kind of awkward so that was never a common modern name. Maybe they had just found out around the time I was born that there's this nicer version of the name in English and it caught on. My parents had no idea, they just liked the name. And then I started school, and we were 3 Andrews in class.
