Wasn't personal mate, more an observation of transfer season mentality both amongst fans and the media.

Absolute bargain. You'd be cashing in on a high. If we'd sold Krul for 10m after the season before last I'd have been gutted. Obviously didn't hit those heights this season and his value will have dropped. As it stands currently Mignolet was the best keeper in the league last season. Whereas I thought De Gea was excellent, Mignolet should never have missed out on team of the year. You want another 5m really, particularly if it =s those crazy americans at Liverpool.
What do you reckon would be best for pickford next season fella? First team football on loan or promotion to 2nd keeper? I'd like to see him promoted but it always carries the chance of him receiving a baptism of fire.
If Mignolet thinks moving to Liverpool will get the Belgium number 1 spot then he really is thick as dog ****. let's get it right, Courtois is a miles better keep & in my opinion Mignolet was abit overrated anyway.
Depends on mig, i rate him and he's a lovely lad, loves the club to bits, bring him through if either mig or westwwod goes, deserves a chance imo, if we keep both send him on loan to the championship
A Mag with a brain? This is a perfect scenario. They'll be getting windows in Benwell next..... Lets add to the mix that we do not need the money, and don't wanna be seen as a selling club. He is our best player, fact, selling him weakens us. Progress? Not at all, regardless of the fact we have the very capable Westie in reserve. We should have been ahead of the game, Fulham got Stekelenburg for 14p, surely we knew bids were coming. If we buy right, he may well sign a new deal, we cannot fault a genuinely top class player for wanting success in his career. He and Curtois are 2 fantastically talented young keepers, the FA need to get over to Belgium and see what they are doing, they have 15 or so top end players under 25, we have Wilshire and a shower of turd.
As a few other poster's have stated on here that De Gea has gone for 18 million pound to united... . Surely the Mig is worth 15 mill at worst? This is a great chance for the club to throw the bait and keep reeling!!! Personally if he does go he has my blessing, although if he goes to the scousers what's the point? their only a top 8 side no champions league football... If Reina stays he'll warm the bench, In saying that i have faith in PDC!
I don't normally comment on other teams boards but as I have seen very little of Mignolet I was curious as to what the Sunderland fans think of him. I noticed a few people saying that Liverpool is more of a sidewards step than a step up but truth is Liverpool are a significant step up from Sunderland in regards to the size of the club as a whole. While it may be true we are not the best team in the league at present and in truth a probably not even in top 5 but if we are going to catch these teams we need to buy top players and if Mignolet is as good as you lot seem to think then we are one step closer to teams currently above us.
How are us lower mid table or mid table teams meant to progress if teams like yourself think they can just cherry pick any player your clubs desire . We also want to catch the teams above you .
you need to extract the lump on your neck out of your anus, i have said before to liverpool fans you are a distant point in football history, a spent force and in recent times every thing bad about the racist side of football with constant defending of events surrounding your club. We at sunderland are in general liked around the country where as liverpool are disliked by most everywhere. Our keeper deserves to play in a better team than yours if he leaves, and if you are a football fan you should know he is one of the best in the prem , and for the record liverpool are **** on and off the pitch. sorry to sit on the fence on this one
Yes history is a factor but their also other reasons. Liverpool despite not winning the league in 23 years are still one of the top 10 supported teams in Europe. Only United, Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern have sold more shirts per year on average over last 5 years. There is more to being a big club than just what you have won in last 3 or 4 years. I am not saying Sunderland are a small club as i have utmost respect for the fans and the club in general and I was really glad the stayed up last year as the premier league is a better league with Sunderland and its fans in it
Liverpool's best hope for next season is 6th, due to Moyes leaving Everton. If we class Spurs as the 5th team, the gap between them and Liverpool is cavernous. Spurs may lose Bale, but a bigger blow will be the inevitable departure of Suarez, I'm not getting into a 'big club' debate, Liverpool are a bigger club, but there is no Champions League, likely reduced TV exposure, and a ****box of a stadium. Mignolet SHOULD be going to a top club, not a 'bigger club that used to be a top club'. I'm not digging Liverpool, it's a fantastic, famous old club, but it's not a massive leap, he should wait for Arsenal to firm up, or even consider Europe if he can't get a top 5 move.
you talk the talk , but the fact is you will never probably win the prem again , so apart from picking up crumbs from what else is left , you are no better a club for our keeper than us , not going to change my opinion on liverpool, every bad experience with other fans ive had ,you lot top the bill , always living in the past ,if i wanted any club to get relegated it would be liverpool.
