He can say what he likes, doesn't stop Pardew from being right. The Scottish league is laughable.

We've loned Celtic (one of the best teams) our 3rd choice Goalie and whats this about interest from either Celtic or Rangers (cant remember which) interested in Smith, our 5th or so choice CM who cant even nearly cope with the Prem any more

I'd say even lower than 5th. Cabaye, Barton, Nolan, Tiote, HBA (even Gosling & Guthrie probably!) are way ahead of him in the pecking order

To be fair although the standard of the SPL overall is poor quality it's not as bad as some people make out, if Pardew wants to take a shot at them then we can't exactly moan when they fire back.

There are still players in the SPL who are good enough and there are players who have made the jump and looked good like Charlie Adam, Craig Gordon, Steven Fletcher etc. The OF would easily survive in the PL and a few others would be good championship teams, get over this superiority complex that we seem to have

    3 players?

And I'm not sure if Celtic or Rangers would "easily survive in the EPL". In fact, I'd expect them to be fighting near the bottom most of the time.

and Adam had a year in the fizzy pop league beforehand.
The Caldwell brothers + many more show that most players from the SPL are ****e.

I watch it quite a lot at work, and while it isn't as bad as some people make out, I think the quality of the Championship is higher.

Even though its not the most reliable source, FIFA rates Celtic and Rangers as 3 1/2 star teams, like Brum, West Sham etc. The other teams are worse and there are even two star teams, who would be league one <ok>

Let's not forget that historically, NUFC have never managed to win anything without a Scot in the team.

I'd say the OF would survive in the PL and Hearts and Dundee utd are upper tier of the championship but most of the others would struggle in the championship and some would struggle in league 1. We could do a lit worse than actually looking to snap up some of the young talents in the SPL

I am Scottish and have grew up watching the Scottish League along side the Premier League. The SPL is ****ing ****e....end of. The Old Firm can be a good game now and again but even most of them in recent memory are watchable at best. The league was OK for a while when Sky was involved and money was available. Once that plug was pulled it went to the ****ter. Berra, Caldwell and McArthur are not premier league class either so your arguements a dud one general.

A dud arguement? They are getting a game every week for a premier league team so someone obviously think they're premier league quality, and I'll take their opinion over a random on an Internet forum anyday
