Looks like its happening for around 10m and of course I would like to keep him he kept us in the league this year.

Best shot stopper in the league imo although I am very biased, amazing in one on one situations as well.

As much as it pains me to say it, Mignolet just edged out Begovic as the best keeper in the league last season imo.

@ £10m with maybe circa £8m coming back for the criminally overated Reina, I think that's the best piece of business you'll do all year.

How is Reina over rated? Liverpool fans have pointed out numerous **** ups over this and the previous season which cost us points and were quite happy for Jones to have a few games to try push Pepe into improving back to his best. The media don't rate him as they spend their days creaming their pants over Hart and opposition fans certainly don't rate him.

Reina's a very good keeper on his day, but he hasn't had his 'day' for a while now.

Maybe you answered that yourself mate <laugh>

He was (past tense) superb, he's now (current tense) very average.

    Eh?

You said he's over rated. I said that Pool fans don't rate him, nor do opposition fans, nor does the media.

If he's not rated, then how can he be over rated?

Barca could play with no keeper and be fine. Valdes has done very little for them the last few years, possibly having the easiest goalkeeping job in the world. There have been games where he could literally have stood there with a mug of tea and been fine. Reina wasn't Barca's first choice (or second choice actually, but I can't remember who was second. ter Stegan was first pick though), so not even Barca rate him too much.

What he is though, is an experienced ball playing keeper who's got links with the club, is Spanish so keeps their core nationality and is fairly cheap compared to other goalkeepers atm. Logical choice.

i would class Real as the biggest club personally.

great teams win it 4 times, but even better ones win it 9 times.

Barca has been his destination for over a year, so it's hardly like they're scraping the barrel here, they've chose him as their next keeper.

I don't think the thought process was "we're pretty damn **** hot, so me Nan could play in the sticks really, who shall he have? Reina? yep ok then, he's pretty ****, but who cares" <laugh> They've picked Reina as they rate him & ergo that means imo (& yours) that he's being over rated - get it?

So because Barca rate him enough to buy him for (the relatively cheap price of) 8mill, that makes him an over rated player? o_O

Not saying their thought process was to go out and buy someone slightly better than Xavi's nan <laugh> but they hardly need to go and buy a world beater to play there. They have much higher priorities to fill.

think Mignolet will be a good signing. It's always tricky to see how a keeper does when they move from a team where they have a lot to do so make plenty of saves, to a team where they in theory will have less to do in games but may have to make only 1 save but it's a crucial one. that's what Reina was great at in his first 3 or 4 years. Just puling out great saves when he hadn't done much for the rest of the game.

Reina was also great at sweeping up any long balls over the top which allowed us to press higher up the pitch. Not sure how good Mignolet is at that, probably not as good as Reina which is a down side. Reina is also a bit suspect on crosses, not sure what Mignolet is like but hopefully he's an improvement which will allow us to defend crosses a bit better.

Very happy with Mignolet! Class shot stopper with both his left and right hand. Will have to work on distribution, but I think 10m is a very reasonable price seeing as we've got him at a decent age. Wish him good luck and I really hope he's a success here.

The Sunderland fans seem to think we're not big enough for him for some reason.. Some even claiming it's a side step in his career <confused> Maybe he's a good enough keeper for the CL, but do they know something we don't?

It is simple really Liverpool have been a great club but with a small old ground and a severe lack of great players, Stevie G too old and 'biter' wanting out it seems obvious to everyone but Pool fans their best days are behind them, also with not very rich or willing owners Liverpool are unlikely to a top tier CL side in the foreseeable future. Yes Pool are a tier up from us, but if Mig goes we want £15m and he should go to a CL side if he really wants better football and to get in the Belgium national side. I reckon Wenger will come in for him.

Does it? Funnily enough I think all Liverpool fans, without exception, realise that we haven't won the league for over 2 decades.

    <doh>

We're very aware of our position, thankyou very much. We're also very aware that we played some great football this season without 'biter' in the team and Stevie G was one of the highest contributing midfielders this season in terms of goals and assists - not bad for someone 'old'.

CL football might still be beyond us for a serious challenge, but aside from Chavski, City or United, the other teams in the running aren't that much better - especially if Bale leaves.

Yeah our best days are behind us, our owners aren't very willing yet we've just allegedly bought your keeper for 10m, and signed Aspas for 7.7m before the windows even opened <doh>? We haven't been a shadow of the team we used to be but yet we still win cups and make finals whether you want to admit it or not, of course not as many as we used to be in, but hey, not many teams have or did. A small old ground which we'll soon be redeveloping? What have Liverpool done to you to make you this bitter <laugh>

I actually don't mind Sunderland but I really don't get the problem with you lot on the Sunderland board FFS <laugh> Like I said, maybe he is a good enough keeper for CL, and if we don't get in to it and he carrys on performing he'll get his move. After all, the better he performs the more chance we have. We finished on 61 points last season with our worst start in 50 odd years so we have something to build on. But if you think LFC is not currently a step up from Sunderland, with no disrespect, you're deluded. And let me reiterate, you won't find many LFC fans stating we're one of the best teams in Europe right now nor in England, but we do have a bright future whether you lot like it or not. <ok>

We're more qualified to judge on Pepe then you are on Mig, We've seen plenty of pepe on tv, How many of you seen mig play? Yet you can put a value on him but if we do (we see him every week) we're bias? Come on guys that's ridiculous. Mig has been 10 times the player Pepe has been this season. If you don't believe me then watch some games. Simple. I see it as a side step if he moves. Not to disrespect your great club, but simply because he'll be playing in the same competitions if he stays with us but he'll see way more of the ball then he would with Liverpool and isn't that what any young developing goalkeeper wants? But weather i see it as a side step or not doesn't matter as this could be happening, so a bit about him eh?

    Strength

Shot stopping and one on ones. Simply world class, it will take your breath away. Also he's developing at the speed of an express train.

    Weakness

Distribution and silly mistakes. Mistakes are understandable from a developing keeper but he's make less and less by the season. His distribution is shocking, well his long kicking is, don't know what his throwing is like as he's yet to play in a side that plays the ball out from the back.

You tell me he's not worth 15 million when you get offers for 25m+ two or three years down the line. The lad is the real deal but not fully developed, if you get him you need to play him. <ok>

Its your club that value him at £10m. I don't understand why you are complaining to us about that valuation when its the valuation people who watch him every week have put on him.
