I do too, a decent level for Reeves where he can be challenging for promotion and a place in the Championship. Suits both parties.

Agree with this, although I put Wolves in a similar situation to us, big players will drop down to them cos they're a big club and they will probably be challenging promotion.

Was there any serious rumours about that?

    Agree!

Reports in Spain linking us with a move for Levante Goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

The Costa Rican goalkeeper UD Levante in Spain, Keylor Navas, could go to the next season in the Premier League.

Team Southampton and West Ham, tico tracked the target in recent months.

And according to the Daily Super Sport of Spain, "The Saints sent a scout to Ciutat in three of the last four games of the Levant. Against Celtic, Zaragoza and Rayo, the team now coached by Mauricio Pochettino exespanyolista had a technician in the box expressly to take note of the Barca goalkeeper performance, as did, for example, West Ham, which finally posted by another keeper of the Liga, Betis Adrian ".

While Southampton is not among the first clubs in the table, does have sufficient funds to pay for a player who really wants to, as he did last season to sign the Uruguayan Gaston Ramirez for 15 million euros.

Navas is selected from Costa Rica and currently disputed World Cup qualifying for Brazil 2014.

The player assumes the title tico also in the Levant for next season following the departure of Uruguayan Gustavo Munúa.

Keylor Navas would show a big lack of faith in Gazza as backup.

Presumably we scouted him before Boruc signed a new contract?

Not necessarily ... we know Gazza is for the future, and with Boruc/Davis not having long left, by the time they retire, Gazza will probably be at the age to step up, possibly with this GK we've just been linked with

I honestly don't think Gazza has what it takes to ever be first choice here.

Not now but he has years ahead of him. Needs to get some experience somewhere then who knows.

Agree ... he needs a year or two out on loan, build up his confidence/ability. He showed promise in his early few games.

I have to disagree. I got very frustrated with him when he was making errors but at the same time he made some great saves. He just needs regular playing time out on loan and maybe in 5 years or so he will be a really good keeper. I'm not saying he will definitely make it but I think he's got a decent chance.

I think we should actually. I'm pretty confident in that prediction.

Considering his age, I think you're writing him off as bit early, even though his Italian club did also. Gillingham loved him, don't forget, so it's more about the occasion than his ability. A little bit of maturity and experience will do him a lot of good. Some people mature faster than others - they can't all be sage-like, like yourself Joe. :)

As a keeper myself, I have as of yet seen anything to suggest that Gazza will one day be our first choice. He lacks command, has a very strange technique and some of the dodgiest hands i've seen in the Premier League. Hope i'm wrong, but really can't see it.

Me neither, he reminds me of Julian Speroni when he first joined Palace.

I think he can definitely improve the things that need to be improved (positioning, decisions, commanding, strength) but it's going to take more than one loan spell; and considering Boruc's age (and unpredictable nature), I think it's likely that we'll be buying a new first-team keeper before Gazzaniga is ready to make the step up. I think he was a cheap, low-risk signing that we needed to make because at the time we only had Davis and needed some depth. He'll improve enough that we could make a considerable profit by selling him, or he could make a good No. 2 if he's unambitious enough to spend a large chunk of his best years on the bench. I think it's highly likely that it'll come to the point where he's not playing and he wants to be playing (much like Bialkowski), so we move him on for a tidy profit.

I saw more in Bart than I do in Gazza. Better basic fundamental skills and he's showing it now he has a bit of confidence back. Gazza may be the same but I'm not sure I see it. Hope to be proven wrong.
