Montpellier Hope To Tie Up Deal to Sign QPR Striker

    Djibril Cisse

Former French champions want to bring Cisse home.

French side Montpellier are hoping to tie up a deal to bring QPR striker Djibril Cisse back to France this summer, according to talkSPORT.

The 31-year-old linked up with the west London side in January 2012 during Mark Hughes’ disastrous reign in charge of the club but has had limited impact and spent the second half of last season on loan with Qatari side Al-Gharafa.

The French international managed just 10 goals in two-and-a-half years with Rangers, but bagged an impressive nine goals in four appearances during his spell in the middle east and has emerged on the radar of Montpellier as they still look to find a replacement for Olivier Giroud who joined Arsenal last summer.

Al-Gharafa have made it known that they want to bring the striker back to the club on a permanent deal but the French side’s chairman, Louis Nicollin, has suggested that Montpellier could be ready to offer him a route back into Europe.

“It would be a big gamble,” Nicollin admitted. “It is the coach who decides, not me. I let the people I pay make those decisions.”

Cisse has previously stated that he still hopes to be included in the French squad that would head to Brazil for the World Cup next year and feels as though he would have a better chance of doing so if he were involved in European football.

At least one of our expensive players is attracting some attention.

Really looks as though Remy is getting a wide berth though!!!!

Could we get him out of the Scrubs on half-day release for home matches?

Hmm he could wear Hoops instead of stripes for 90 mins but those leg irons would be hell to play in.

Exactly, the best we can hope for is that its still undecided and no one buys him in the window and then no charges are made and we have him for the NPC.

Some on here seem to think that he guy (Loic Remy) is guilty already, give the lad a break until you hear the full story/details/evidence.

Innocent until proven guilty - but clubs would have to be mad to want to buy him for say 8m. He COULD be sent to prison a month after the transfer window closes so it would be a massive gamble for a club.

Hopefully he is found not guilty and we end up having him for the season. Will rip the NPC to shreds.
