My mistake, I thought it was your new owners that spent £2.6M on Proschwitz <doh>

They spent big on one player that Bruce probably said would be worth it. Proschwitz was Bruce's error (or his scout's) and they just trusted him. Every other player was either free, or worth it (i.e. Brady and Meyler justified their price tag, Aluko was free, Quinn was next-to-nothing, £2k a game I think up to £150k or something etc etc).

    Still sensing envy... <whistle>

We paid £50k for Simpson, so you should probably have left him off the list and McShane was only £500k.

Wasn't McShane's price part of a fraudulent deal for Turner?

We? Aren't we just effectively a conduit for players and other clubs?

It wasn't fraudulent, we bought McShane for £500k, which is what he was worth and we sold Turner from £4m, which is also what he was worth(though he was worth far more than that to us).

I don't think Colchester will agree.

As you imply, if we had kept Turner (maybe by Bartlett putting some money into the club and not buying Olofinjana for £3m next year) we would have been safe from relegation a lot earlier which would have helped our player recruitment the next year.

He seems to be one of those players with an attitude problem, so no thanks.

Plus he was at Real Madrid, his wages will be stupid.

I'm talking rubbish - of course! Turner was sold at the start of 2009-2010. I suppose Turner was sold for cash up front and Oli on staged payments.

You trust a 'fee believed to be' article in the Mirror? <laugh>

We paid £50k for Simpson and that came directly from the bloke who signed him.

We had to pay Arsenal a few hundred grand in May, due to a promotion clause, but that's it.

No we really did pay £50k for him. There were loads of rumours around then stating massive prices but we actually had bugger all money then (due to the other signings you mentioned). We paid some add-ons upon promotion, but by definition they were worth it.

We sold Turner to pay that month's wages, so yes that would imply cash up front to me.

You need to tell his agent then as he must have overcharged him re signing fee <ok> http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...l-striker-Jay-Simpson-wants-move-to-Hull.html

Sure why not? Seems a little silly but I trust OLM saying he knows the guy as opposed to you quoting ****y online links or his agent on those links.
