Certainly interesting, but doesn't surprise me at all. Just goes to show that the big man's work has been under-appreciated by a good few people on here - we still need him.
We certainly appear stronger when the big man starts. As a tactical sub, late on in the game,he was too wound up and ready to take on the world.Never really worked for me.
What about the 18 he started and we didnt win? How many of those did we lose and how many were draws?
Certainly agree may well not be first choice next year, but he could be a rallying force to win a few points late on in matches and get a few starts.
Defo agree with everything there, the big man had a good season its not all about how many you stick in the net, shame some on here cant see it.
his powers may be beginning to wane but he's still a good player and very important to the club, goes without saying, or at least it should! that's why i don't think he will be sold this summer
If the stat above is to be believed we did not win one match when Holty came on as a sub so perhaps not although it is fair to say that CH did not exactly give any subs a lot of time to make an impact last season!
Holt scored only one penalty in the league last year, whereas he had more than that the previous year, so the difference isn't as great as some on here imagine.
Holt is a player who needs to be playing regularly, a bit like Rooney. He is absolutely not a good impact sub, that role suits a quick player who can stretch tired defences. I think he will be off this summer.
I don't care what anyone says, if we'd have played the same attacking football his goals tally would have been around the same. He's had bugger all chances and and bugger all decent chances all season. Our lack of goals this season had nothing to do with Grant Holt losing it, getting old, not trying, not fit, not getting on with the manager. It was down to our approach to the games.
