I was all in favour of him before the u21 Euros and still am really but I was surprised by how crap his defensive awareness was, too many times the opposition attacked down the right and Rose was nowhere to be seen.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt as Pearce is useless but I'd be very wary about making him our first choice left back. Definitely need another left back with Premier League experience to challenge him. Hopefully we'll get someone like Davies at Swansea who's young and doing really well.

He won't stand a chance at Spurs as he's not a big money signing so sell for his sake.

Same, but the word is he's headed to Chelsea('s bench), although i agree he's better than rose, who i'm not particularly sold on yet, especially in defence.

Still not sure he's a top4 LB, purely based on what I've seen, could improve still, and may not. Rose shone predominantly in a poor disjointed side under MON, could he be consistant as 1st choice LB for us?, I've got doubts about that, would he be happy as cover on the bench as most here will no doubt suggest he should be, judging by his twitter comments after the last game for S'land, i've got doubts about that too.

  13. Is Rose better than Ezekiel Fryers? If not, why do we need him?

Replace Assou-Ekotto, as it's clear that Villas-Boas doesn't rate him, and keep Rose as competition for whoever comes in.
    Leighton Baines, preferably.

This strikes me as wum bait PNP. Any move Baines makes now is likely to be the final one of his career, he's widely regarded as the best left-back in the league, I'm not sure I can see him coming to us - it would jeopardise his chance of a BIG move.

All Spurs fans should give up hope now of signing either Baines or Shaw. Not gonna happen

I'd normally agree WY, but nobody else seems to be moving for him and I'm not sure what his options are.

Chelsea already have Cole and Bertrand, with van Aanholt supposedly impressing this season on loan and Shaw seemingly destined for Stamford Bridge.
Man Utd have Evra, Buttner and Fabio, though the latter's a bit ****e, and seem to be focusing on more attacking signings.
Arsenal signed Monreal in January and already have Gibbs. And Santos... :emoticon-0136-giggl
City have Clichy and Kolarov, Liverpool would be a controversial (and possibly sideways) move and there doesn't seem to be a lot of interest from abroad.

Everton might hang onto him, but I'd like to think that we're at least considering it.

  19. Why do you say "clearly"?

I haven't seen anything of Fryers, so I cannot judge, but SAF seemed to be pretty peeved at loosing him to us.

In the couple of kids games I've seen, he looked decent going forward, but all over the place defensively. May have just caught a couple of poor games,
