Whilst we are on the subject of songs, why do we have to sing "Oh When The Saints" in the manner of a dirge? Oh yes, because everyone else does. Its our song and we should sing it our way, not like everyone else.
Absolutely agree with you, we never used to sing it like that until Spurs hijacked it. It's particularly annoying because its often started when there is a lull in play but by the time we get to the increased tempo verse, which we enjoy, there is some dramatic action an one end or the other and the whole thing peters out....lets drop the dirge
And while we're at it, bring back the Southampton Albion Band to play OWTS as the teams come out on to the pitch.
and bring back Ken Bailey to walk round the pitch in his now very topical "EDL" outfit, waving his flag and sticking two fingers up the kids.... allegedly please log in to view this image
Bringing back Ken Bailey could be a bit difficult! I shared a train carriage with him once, coming home from Wembley after our World Cup exit many years ago. Not much of a story I'm afraid, I can't think of much to say other than he was a bit upset.
Back to ... "Come on You Saints oh what we want is a goal...." Remember that being played early 80s over the tannoy?
