Transfer News: QPR linked with Australian ace Mark Milligan By Edwin Chong. Last Updated: June 13, 2013 12:29pm Mark Milligan: Linked with move to Europe Queens Park Rangers are keeping a close eye on Australia and Melbourne Victory star Mark Milligan. According to local reports, Rangers will be sending a scout to run the rule over the versatile defender when the Socceroos take on Iraq next Tuesday in Sydney. The 27 year-old still has two years remaining on his current contract with Melbourne but could leave the club if the right offer came along. His agent Buddy Farah told foxsports.com.au that while a dream move to Europe could be on the cards this summer, he is happy to stay put for the time being. "Mark's very happy at Melbourne and should an offer come in from Europe that we believed suited him we could be interested, but we're not chasing anything, it's all coming to us," said Farah. Milligan, who recently turned down a $2 million offer to play for UAE's Baniyas, was close to joining Arsenal in 2008 but that deal fell through.
This Milligan would likely have been a better choice - at least he would given us all something to laugh about! please log in to view this image He's got the right shirt on too...... please log in to view this image
Not a bad player to be fair, I like him. Sits in front of the back four for Victory and they really miss him when he's not playing. However, the usual question is, has he got it to cut it in the Championship? At first glance I'd say possibly.
He'd do a job TBH, but not really been tested at any decent level. Plays well over here, but that means sweet FA to Europe. Cant say he has stood out but a decnt A-League player. worth a gamble is the price is right!
rangers don't need to send a scout all the way to oz cheap return fare from here and a bit of beer money and I will take a look
There haven't been many Aus players that have come over here successfully and those that have generally get spotted a lot earlier, so doubtful here.
As an Aussie, I shamefully admit that I know squat about him ............... In truth, I only follow QPR. Yes, I am guilty but at the end of the day, how bad can an Aussie be? 1 - Aussies tend to lead from the front. 2 - As a defender, midfielder and Aussie, I'm sure he'll show some backbone. 3 - At 27, he won't be overawed by the experience. 4 - He could be a late bloomer and save us the anguish on game day, of heading to the bar area earlier than expected. 5 - He's an Aussie so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and try him. He won't be no drama queen.
Oh definitely, he's a defender that means he knows how to track back, tackle, header, pass, kick the ball to a team player, not fall over, fight, not sulk, make decisions, not wear girly gloves, not rely on others to do his work, man up and maybe even score from a corner...assuming the corner taker can get the ball over the first man.. Got to be worth more than Adel easily ........30 million....what on the list can adel do again?...#muggedyourself
Ok but would he take a ball in the face if he was in the wall at the end of an important match we were winning 1-0
How come we can't find a young defender this this one? Hopefully our new scouting team will dig up a few with some potential. Southampton sign Croatian defender Dejan Lovren from Lyon Southampton have completed the signing of highly-rated Croatian defender Dejan Lovren from Lyon. The 23-year-old, who has played 17 times for his country, has signed a four-year deal at St Mary's.
