According to SSN, Harold's ghosted Sun column is a broadside against the England set up, poor coaching etc etc. Brought a wry smile to my face, and he resisted the temptation to have a go at the QPR board. In other gossip Hooper now clearly out of our league as Hull up their bid of £4m to Celtic, and Hughes allegedly wants David Bentley at Stoke.
He is spot on about England. It's not that we can't play football or don't produce top players. It's the coaching structure from the bottom up that is totally wrong. When my lad was in Reading's elite academy, all they wanted were big, strong fast kids and my lad was released because he was getting "out-muscled too often". Messi would never have made it through our academies!! Until there is a major sea-change, we will never win anything, despite having the players to do so. 4-4-2 FFS!!
DT started another thread on this with a much better response Col. Redknapp is right, but most 'football people' would agree with him, they have the power to change it, yet nothing ever changes.
