    True but then you look at trophys won and average crowds etc and then you have to say Utd. I lived in Manchester for a few years and the eternal wrangling about which was the biggest club was never ending at least we don't have that so much in Bristol.

    Nah, come on guys, Yeovil by league position are probably the bigger club at the moment, time to be humble me thinks?? even swindle are pushing us close. We are only a 'big' club in and around BS3, bigger fish in a smaller pond?

    As I said earlier in one sense I agree, as soon as their crowds match ours and they are still in a higher division I will say they are bigger than us.

    I dont see how Yeovil are a bigger club to us. Yes they are in a higher league but thats the only thing going for them.

    On paper we have better players than them. you could argue we have a better ground with plans to expand. We have a richer owner. We are a City based club is a more attractive location to a footballer and I would say that if both clubs were to play each other tomorrow the odds would be for us to win.

    Too work out who is the bigger club you have to look at each clubs maxed out potential as well as league positions cups etc, if you look at it that way you would say city everytime followed by plymouth the gas swindon and exeter all before yeovil.

    History says though that all the sides round here with the exception of yeovil currently have generally under achieved, also if you take newport into account who are the next closest league team to us they use to get some good gates and have had a earopean cup run in the past

    I think that average attendance is meaningless or even highest attendance look how many Rovers took to Wembley for the playoff finals approx 40,000 plus (total fans 61569) and that was for L2 as for Yeovils L1 final attendance was very low most of the total of 41955 were Brentford supporters and Yeovils season only average 4,071, amazing they have made it all the way to the championship respect!

    As popular as it is, the argument about which is the biggest club in the West country will never be settled, especially as so many different gauges will be used by different sets of supporters - usually to suit their own case. So is 'size' based on success on the field (over what time perion 5,10,20 years), the financial value of a club,average attendance figures (but some of the clubs mentioned are restricted by stadium size) perhaps you should also include social media figures?

    Yeovil have the current bragging rights as they are in a higher division but does that make them a bigger club?

    If it was measured on Debts I assume City would win that one hands down (only kidding).

    Also no supporter wants to be second best to a competitor.

    Did we say we were a big club? We are the biggest and best in the west country there is no denying it but its not something to be proud of due to how crap we all are. So we are the best of a very bad bunch.

    If you're referring to Moses from biblical times then I have to raise objection.

    a) Moses never wore shorts.

    b) Bristol was most likely not a place in Moses time

    c) Football was not a sport

    <ok>
